They had done a lot of construction, I feel they still need to do some more for people to better use and enjoy the park. There are still a lot of very large wet spots that form after it rains. I would say take your small kids to another park but your pet duck will love it.

I walk there every morning for a couple years now, back in the wooded track area . About 4 weeks ago I was done walking and I seen a little black dog running loose dragging a leash. She was running across the bridge, she got away from its owner, I called her and she came right to me. I went and found the owner, come to find out the girl was homeless. Living out of her car I told her that the dog was almost to the parking lot. She asked me if I knew of anyone that wanted a dog. I said I was kind of thinking about it & she handed me the leash. She's is the sweetest little thing. I guess she needed me as much as I needed to her I think .. so we both now enjoy our walks at the Doling 🐾 🚶 Merry Christmas to us 🎅

Quiet park on the north side of Springfield. Cave tours, fitness center, senior center (free activities!), a museum of the park history (also free) as well as the typical playground equipment. Lots of fun for the family.

A great place to go, you know if you're into kids and family, that kind of stuff. If you're looking for a good spot to get on one and get a hand jigger, well not so much then.

Really like this park. The ducks and geese are friendly so bring something to feed them (preferably not bread). Usually very peaceful and quiet, especially when the temperature drops and people are no longer going to the park.
