I have only seen Dr. Moore twice, and I'm going to leave it at that. My initial appt I walked in to a vacant office. I peeked my head back and said "hello?" a nurse walked out and was like ".....", and I asked if I was in the correct place. She responded "......yes?", like DUH. Not a good 1st impression. The receptionist got back from lunch I believe, and I did my paperwork. She was nice enough. Irritated nurse took me back and had no change of tune. Upon meeting the Dr, I'll say....he's nice, but he's very brass tacks and to the point. I can see where he would come across as stern. What I really appreciated was that he's very thorough in educating the patient and explains to you why he's doing what he's doing. So, I figured that as long as the Dr. is nice, that's all that matters. My second visit happened yesterday, and this is what solidified my decision to look elsewhere. I recently had surgery on my face, which caused me to have black eyes. Im a little over a week past, and they are starting to clear up, but still visible. I had to see the Dr for a separate matter. Upon check in the receptionist made motion to her eyes, like "what happened?". I'm like "oh, I know. I had surgery.." and she was like "wow, jeeze...that's like, really obvious. It looks really bad.." WHAT? and then, I swear to you she says "It looks like you were wearing sunglasses and someone like, punched them in to you face". I just didn't even know what to say to that, I was stunned. I sat down and was called back by the same unenthusiastic nurse as my last visit. Once again, my appearance was pointed out, not in a concerned tone, but in a judgmental "eeew" tone. I tried to make light of it, and also casually imply that it wasn't ok to point out, like "yep, it's embarrassing enough right now!", and it went over her head. The Dr. came in. Yet AGAIN my appearance was pointed out, and yet again in a judgmental tone. In my head I'm thinking "wow...do I really look THAT bad?" like, thanks guys. Then he inquires as to WHY I have black eyes from my surgery. I figured it was kinda common knowledge you have black eyes when you have rhinoplasty? But wouldn't a doctor know that at least? I had my visit, I got my Rx, and walked out. I thought about how that made me feel all night, and called back this morning, to let the receptionist know I was very hurt by the unprofessional actions I experienced and that I would like an apology, for which I was given. Gee, thanks. I would think it's common knowledge to treat patients with respect and without judgement in regards to anything medical or health related in a DOCTOR'S OFFICE. I'm off to find a clinic who agrees with me.
