My experience with Dr. Turk has been nothing but great. In 2015, my primary care doctor diagnosed me with a health condition through a routine blood test. She quickly sent me over to work with Dr. Turk. He has always patiently explained all options to me and accepted my decisions on which course of treatment I would prefer. When I recently had a recurrence of the condition, he listened to an idea I had about what might have caused it, accepted the research articles I had printed out from PubMed, and ordered a blood test for me to check my theory. We didn't find evidence supporting my theory, but I so appreciated his willingness to listen. I also saw in my chart notes on My PeaceHealth that he took my idea seriously and acknowledged that there are sometimes connections between conditions for unknown reasons. Thanks, Dr. Turk, for always listening to me and keeping on top of my health.

I had already been diagnosed with a rare disease while in the hospital. Prior to my crisis that sent me to the hospital, I had been waiting to see if Dr. Turk was going to accept me as a patient or not. Upon seeing him at the insistence of the hospitalist, he walked into the office to tell me that he had had no intention of accepting me as a patient since my disease had been caused by other doctors. To date, a year and a half later, no one has determined the cause of my disease. That testing has never been done. It was only when I pointed out to Dr. Turk a secondary problem that he became interested. His words to me were, "Oh, well, that's interesting. Maybe I'll take you on after all." So because I was complex and interesting, not because he knew how to care for my diseases, he accepted me. I spent one year in his care. During that time, I had seven crisis. These are life threatening. He never gave me the proper medication. He is a "Do as I say and we'll be fine" kind of doctor. I'm a "I am part of a team working toward my health improving" patient. Our last visit together was 20 minutes of his spouting off about how he and I would have to both compromise. He was convincing himself, not me! Not once in all those hospital visits did he take on my care. One time, at my insistence, the ER doc called and spoke to Dr. Turk. One time, the internist spoke to Dr. Turk one time about my care while in hospital. That was it. I would never return to Dr. Turk since he does not know how to care for my diseases. He also did not appear to care to do anything other than use me as a guiny pig at his convenience which was not often. He refused to give me medication I needed and refused to provide me with a letter for ER visits due to life threatening crisis' to assist ER docs who had no idea about my diseases or how to treat them.
