Unfortunately I had to cancel my appointment an hour before it was scheduled because something out of my control came up. When i called to cancel and reschedule the doctor refused to reschedule my appointment because they have people waiting to see them. I understand me cancelling was an inconvenience but what I don't understand is he saying he will never see me because I had to cancel. That was very unprofessional and I felt like I was treated unfairly. Dr. Huntwork don't ever have to worry about me coming there but I wish it didnt have to be that way because just like anyone coming there I'm having issues with my health and this is tough enough to deal with.

I was sent to see Dr. Huntwork from my primary for Autoimmune indicators in my bloodwork. He (Dr. Huntwork) ran new bloodwork and confirmed that I had a non-determined Autoimmune disease.  He prescribed medication and I did my best with what I could.  Still having increasing issues and soreness, etc.  Just call him back for results from my last visit three weeks ago (was suppose to be contacted one week after by his office).  Receptionist put me on hold and came back to inform me that Dr. Huntwork stated my bloodwork was fine and nothing showed on my bloodwork.  I did not even get the respect expected from a Doctore - Patient relationship.  How can he justify not even talking to me about this!  Not a happy patient and will most likely never recommend him.  I was told by a friend who also has an Autoimmune disease that she got no satisifaction from any doctors, that she had to go to Mobile.  It took 7 long years but they finally give her a diagnosis and treatment.  I guess I will be heading to Mobile.

Paperwork is minimal because he likes to talk to you rather than reading page after page of information. My first visit was a listening and physical exam. This doctor is knowledgeable about autoimmune diseases. He was patient with me and I didn't feel rushed. For almost 4 years I've been looking for a doctor like this. His staff is very nice also. When he ordered MORE bloodwork I thought not again. This was the first time that he had ordered. I had been to so many doctors and the bloodwork never showed anything. He ran a different set and along with my symptoms and physical exam I was able to get a diagnoses besides FIbromyalgia. I would highly recommend this doctor.

Dr. Huntwork is a great rheumatologist. He really cares about all aspects of his patient's health, and is very practical about health care costs and how to find assistance.  For people like me who are on biologics, this is very important!
