I went to several neurologists before coming to Dr. Maquera.  None of them were able to diagnose the cause of my severe and chronic headaches.  Dr. Maquera's persistence and patience with me allowed him to find the cause and prescribe a treatment.  I find him an extremely competent and caring physician, and would recommend him highly to anyone.

The initial visit, Dr. Maquera sat down with me for about ten minutes, listened to my history, admitted that he knew little about treating my condition (Tourette Syndrome), but I was honored to hear that he was willing to try to treat TS, as several neurologists simply do not attempt to do. 

One week later, I visited Dr. Maquera again to complain of side effects due to the medication he prescribed me. This second visit he spent less than five minutes with me, as I explained I was having episodes of severe depression and severe appetite loss (common side effects of topiramate), he shrugged it off and threw me on an anti-depressant. 

This was not just unprofessional and rude, but also a waste of my time.

I used to go to Dr Maquera  about 12yrs ago. He managed my migraine headaches and I love his bedside manner. I suffered 24 hrs a day for weeks at a time until I started to see him. I recommend him highly. He's awesome, a true life saver!! The injections I received allowed me to function day to day..

He is the most amazing Dr I have ever seen. He has helped me so much by managing my migraines and muscle spasms with Botox. I have seen other doctors for years and been with Dr. Maquera for over 13 years now. He is compassionate and caring. Just Amazing.
