I really wanted to like this place but the saleslady was just far too "helpful" for my liking.. I'm a grown ass man and don't need my hand held, please just let me browse in peace. After her third time approaching in my in 10 minutes I had to walk out and will try a different location because I really just can not stand that kind of aggressive sales. Being polite is welcomed but if I say I will let you know if I have any questions or need help, that is what i mean. 

Selection also was pretty narrow in regards to styles and sizes seemed to be either a normal store large end or very large, nothing in between.. for example the suit jackets were all either 44-54 or 62+

Man...don't go in there right after they open if you just want to shop in peace.  In about 15 minutes, I had at least 5 salespeople approach me a couple of times each after I told the whole group of them I was just browsing when I came in.  At a certain point it feels like you're being surveilled -vs- helped!  I probably would have stayed and bought something if they hadn't been so overbearing.  I'm not shy and I've worked retail myself, but it was just way too pushy for my comfort.

For big dudes this place is very handy. They have anything you need from casual to formal in sizes that will fit well. Major drawback: VERY expensive. But if you can't find things that fit anywhere sometimes you just gotta bite the bullet.

I have gone here twice for my boyfriend's clothing needs. They have always had a great selection and good quality of shirts and pants. Their ties are very handsome and artfully displayed, making it very hard to choose because they're all so pretty! I have received excellent customer service from Melinda and her son Eli, very personal, knowledgeable, and good taste. Even though it is a bit of a drive for us (we live in SE Portland) we really enjoy shopping here!

The quality at DXL is great along with the selection of big and tall. The staff’s willingness to help is great, but their hidden costs are not. Purchased a sport coat and was told they could shorten the sleeves and adjust the side a bit no problem, but to have it done the same day was a $23 rush charge. I had no problem paying the rush charge, but no one said each alteration cost another $23 on top of the rush charge for a total of $46. Was told the rush job would only take 2 hours and ended up taking 3 hours. All I got were excuses when I raised my concern about their inability to complete the job in the time they stated. Great product, but if you need something altered take it somewhere else.
