This is a terrible hospital, I thought I was going to die waiting for service, Smith's station fire department took better care of me than the darn nurse's and doctors at East Alabama medical center only time someone came in the room that I was in for over 2 hours was to get a signature and medical insurance info making sure they were paid to do nothing! Then after all the waiting sent me home a prescription drug that I am allergic to that I had informed them about..OMG GO TO COLUMBUS

The worst hospital I’ve ever been to in my whole entire life and I’ve been to a hell of a lot of hospitals. They made me cry when all I wanted was help because I was sick. They didn’t give me the proper treatment or attention. Nurses had incredible sass and brought no comfort or care to my situation. I felt unwelcome and uncared for. I kindly explained that I am leaving to go somewhere else and I’m response the nurses went “are you kidding me” and gave me rude and uncalled for dirty looks. Terrible experience. You have better luck at a truck stop. But for real for your own HEALTH AND SAFTY GO TO ANY👏🏻OTHER👏🏻HOSPITAL

I would give zero stars if I could. Cold, uncaring staff. Disinterested, uncaring, do-the bare-minimum doctors. Nurses only marginally better. But they will bill you like you had first rate care! It's obvious ALL they care about is the money. Do yourself and your family a favor and go to Columbus or Mongomery. Anywhere but here!

I was very impressed with how the preoperational nursing staff made me and my mother feel comfortable before her left knee surgery yesterday. I was very pleased with her Doctor-- Todd M. Sheils, M.D. for the professional way he informed me and my family on how the surgery went after it was finished. Thanks E.A.M.C

I went to the ER thinking I was having a heart attack. The ER staff took me right in and began tests immediately. It wasn't a heart attack. Thank God. The ER staff worked well together and with me. They took time to soothe my nerves and get me settled. There were some unpleasant things that had to be done and they explained the procedures clearly. Not once did I feel awkward or troublesome. While they were friendly, caring and compassionate, they were professionals all the way. I wish I could remember their names, but I was really out of it. This occurred March 12, 2018 at approximately 10:30 p.m. I was admitted in a very short time on the 6th floor and the nurses and assistants went to work immediately, making me comfortable and aware of everything that was happening to me and for me. I had numerous procedures done and it was coordinated so well that I didn't have the feeling of hurry up and wait. The results were told to me right away and was explained to me as well as being told what the next step would be. I would like to give a shout out to Dina (night nurse and her staff), they were very polite and quickly went about their tasks . There was never a time I felt like I was putting them out of their way ot interfering with their schedule. An extra shout out the the phlebotomist that came in at 4 a.m. and drew blood. It was painless and very quick. As for the day shift nurse, Dana Hertzog( hope that's right). Thank you, thank you, thank you! I was completely at ease with you and your co workers! I feel like you went out of your way on this one. Dana stayed on top of everything for me and made sure I was always aware of what was going on and what was planned. While no diagnosis was made, I feel like everything that could be done was done. I cannot thank them enough. They were wonderful patient advocates. Thanks also to Dr. Lazenby for taking some time out to clarify what was going on. Thank you Dr. Meka also for your attention. I`m sure I will be seeing you soon. Thank you to the Lab, the x ray dept technicians, sonogram technician, cat scan technecian, and Nuclear Medicine technicians. I would be remiss in not thanking the Transporters, they were very expedient and careful. I recently moved from Colorado to Alabama and was very pleased with the attention I was given. Thank you I can't ever remember experiencing this high comfort level. Patricia Murphy
