Great place to bring kids. You can pedal boat on the pond, it costs $11 per adult per hour and I think $7 for kids. There’s a playground, and it’s a really neat place to walk and enjoy the area around the pond. There’s a ton of wildlife and really cool looking plants with downtown off in the distance. There are food vendors all over the park, and plenty of shade to have a picnic. Parking can be a little tricky on the weekends but there is a public parking lot a short walk away between the park and sunset blvd.

who doesn't love echo park? it's got one of the best views of downtown while standing next to a lake!? sure, it's not anything as big or famous as Central Park (NY) but this is a place where people of all kinds gather around and just enjoy their afternoons. make sure you jump on one of the pedalboard and enjoy the water. after that you can take a stroll around and head home.

Echo Park is kid friendly, pet friendly, and people friendly. The park is very clean. You do see some homeless people, but they don't disturb. They as you not to feed the birds... I agree... overall it's a very nice park with a walking path might I add.

The park for myself and a child was and has always been very lovely to visit. I think one time another woman put her hands on my three year old girl, a small explanation was done about her keeping her hands off of other people's children but other than that, we enjoy the park, entirely... very beautiful to sit and contemplate, reflect on the beauty of the city and its surroundings... on the other hand if you are going for exercise it is very wonderful. They have open restrooms and its very lovely to visit. Always even in the rain...

This park is an amazing spot to see a wetland area in action. They also have cool community events here. There is a fair share of homeless folks, but they have always been mellow the times I have been there recently. Spending time in the park actually gets you away from the busy action of the area. Taking a ride on the boats is fun, especially when the lotus flowers are in bloom. Don't forget to check out the lotus festival here. It's a huge part of Echo Park and Los Angeles history.
