Decent hotel for the price. I know this isn't a expensive 4 star hotel or anything but here's my experience.... We showed up around 10pm and the desk lady at the time was not the nicest nor very welcoming. Check-in was easy and fast. The room was very outdated. (Wasn't expecting much) The beds are very hard. Pillows aren't great either. Showers don't really get that hot. The towels are like sand paper... Free "Breakfast" Watery waffle mix Cereal, muffins and toast. The juice machine was disappointing.. orange juice and apple juice were out. Only cranberry juice. The hotel got the job done for the price but definitely have stayed at nicer hotels for cheap. Seems like they have some work to do. Hope this helps. P.s. The morning desk lady was much more friendlier! 🤗

Upon arrival we had booked a king bed and were given two queens. Sheets in BOTH queens were disgustingly dirty and when we called for new sheets those were dirty as well. We were planning on swimming but both the pool and hot tub were drained. My friend staying, in another room, asked for a discount and he got one and the next day when I asked they refused a discount saying they had said online that the pool was drained. After leaving, we checked the website and it was nowhere to be found. I feel scammed. Not worth a penny. Curses!

The staff is amazing!! Jenny went above and beyond to make sure we had a room that was close to our semi..the rooms have been remodeled and are very nice..I will definitely stay here again when we’re in town

Met up with family for a little getaway in Sioux Falls. Choose this hotel for location and the pool for the kids. Check in was nice and easy and the lady at the desk was super nice. Was upset to see pool was closed for renovations and it was not mentioned online or at check in. Whole place smelled like stale cigarettes. Our room was clean but the temp control nob on the heater was missing and heater would not turn off when turned on so spent all night either freezing or boiling. Next morning housekeeping just walked in our room without knocking. We had about 7 of us all together so we asked the front desk if we could use the breakfast area to eat lunch and play some board games and visit. Same lady as night before and she was awesome and said sure. 30ish mins later same housekeeper asked if we were done yet we told her no and thanked them again for letting us use the room. We even gave them a nice tip for it. After a little while the housekeeper came in again looked me right in the eye and shut off the lights on us. So we packed up our stuff and left. If it was a problem she could have said something instead of being so rude. We plan on doing another Meetup in town sometime....I will be booking elsewhere.

So I am a single dad with a 7 year old son and I wanted to take him on a getaway for a night to play in a pool and relaxe in a hot tub with me. I booked a room for a Friday night with Econo Lodge North. It was stated that I would be paying a cancelation fee about the same as the room 2 days before and arrival. After I picked him up from school in Brookings we ran to WalMart to get a life vest and snorkeling gear☺ Not cheap. When we got to the room about 5:45 we were checking in and I asked the lady at the front desk where the pool was. She said I'm sorry but it and the hot tub are being renovated. I looked at my son and said I am so sorry bud!! Nothing while booking or during my motel search said that the pool and hot tub were being renovated. As you can imagine we were highly disappointed. We hauled our stuff to the room to find out that we had a newly renovated room with 2 Queen sized beds. One for each of us. My baby boy was pumped☺ I booked a room with a single Queen bed. We got this one for the same price.. It was clean and nice.. So since the pool was out I docked my laptop right away to see what else for options. I found Chucky Cheese had good coupons on line but I couldn't print them out. The girl at the front desk printed them out for us no problem. My 7 year old looked for the positives in things just like his dad always does and look beyond the disappointments as you can. He said the beds were so comfortable dad... We ended up having a great time, little added money I need to makeup for but turned out good. Below are the Pros and Cons. Things to keep up and things to work on. I have worked for my company for over 30 years traveling all over the world. Seen lots of Hotel/Motels. Just trying to help if you want to listen. Please let me know when the pool and hot tub are done so we can stop again. Pros Excellent personnel and so helpful. Nice reconditioned room. For such a low cost it was nice having the fridge, microwave, and Wi-Fi. Most comfortable beds and bedding. Great shower with the wide hoop shower curtain. Cons Wi-Fi kept going out. Not a good breakfast at all. Provide some fresh pastries not the stuff that is full of preservatives.. something fresh made that morning. The ones provided were nasty.. Also add some fresh fruit. Got up at 6am to get a banana. Disappointed.. The heater was so load it was hard to sleep at all.
