Story

El Cajon Transit Center is a San Diego Trolley station in El Cajon, California. It marks the eastern terminus of the Orange Line while the Green Line continues northward to Arnele Avenue to its terminus at Santee Town Center. The next station south is Amaya Drive. The stop is a major commuter center for the large suburb, allowing individuals to switch buses or rail lines, use park and ride services, or board regional Greyhound Buses.Prior to September 2, 2012, all Orange Line trolleys used to continue through this station to Gillespie Field (Santee Town Center before July 2005 when service was switched over to Green Line) until a system redesign shortened the line's eastern terminus to this station. However, if an Orange Line trolley is unable to successfully turn around at El Cajon Transit Center, it will travel to Arnele Avenue and turn around for scheduling purposes and convenience of some riders.

It's a very functional transit center. Two trolley lines, many bus routes, and lots of taxi cabs. One BIG downside - no free public restrooms. If you gotta go, you're gonna need a quarter.

I like the store being there and there are always law enforcement around. So it's safe. Transit going in and out us plentiful and mostly seamless. But the place is really dirty. There are lots of transients that are always at the station. I don't mind them personally, but I mind the smell of urine from people peeing everywhere. It wreaks! Also cant put my hand on any rails or anything because they are covered in bird poop. If they cleaned the place up a bit better it would be great.

This place is outrageous. I love all the colorful vagabonds that offer to relieve me of some of my money. The stale urine reminds me of how lucky I am to have running water. I think we can have homeless people keep pidgeons as pets. Then designate a new potty area instead of the hand rails.
