Good Mexican Food i can complain service was very very Good enjoyable :)

I usually love El Nopal, however, this was the first time I ordered it for carry out. They completely messed up my Nachos order, didn't include the things I asked for to be on it and instead kept all of the things I did not want on it. If the woman taking my order would have double checked with me what she wrote down this would not have been a problem.

I took my girlfriend here for her birthday as a surprise and we ordered queso as soon as we were Sat. The waiter brought us a thing of queso that was so cold it was already coagulated and neither of us were willing to eat it. I politely asked the waiter for a hot one and even offered for him to take ours back and put it in the microwave. He then proceeded to quite literally laugh in our faces and told us that the queso was in fact NOT COLD and gave me attitude since he had to remake it. We ended up leaving before any other food came out given the awful experience. Completely RUINED her birthday surprise

This review is for our last visit only. We have eaten at El Nopal many times and generally have a good experience, but not last night 3/3/2018. We went to a movie and decided on El Nopal in Tyler Center afterwards. It was 9:30 when we arrived and checked to make sure that they were open which the sign stated until 10:30. When we went in all of the chairs had been set up already so we sat in a booth. The workers were all busy cleaning the restaurant for closure, but we did get a waitress to wait on us. We ordered the Pollo Pablano, which is normally very good, and the chicken quesadilla verdi. The food was delivered within 10 minutes and was obviously not fresh. The chicken was very dry and tough. I could tell that it had been setting around for quite some time and the quesadilla was nothing more than a tortilla with some shredded chicken inside. There was no sauce. They had already removed all of the condiments and napkins from the tables so I had to retrieve some myself. Very disappointed with this visit. If you state that you will be open till 10:30 then you should be willing to treat your customers accordingly.

My wife and I drive past several similar style Mexican places (including another El Nopal) to visit this one 2–4 times a month.  The staff is friendly, and unless they are getting slammed, your food and drinks arrive quickly.  (Once we had our server apologize for the delay when it had only been 10 minutes after we'd ordered.)  Sure, this may not be "authentic Mexican", but the food is always fresh and tasty.
