Ok, so this review has many parts. Don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal here. It wasn't the best Mexican I've had but it was still delicious. Ok first and foremost. Chips and Salsa: their chips and salsa is phenomenal. The Salsa is very tasty and refreshing. Their queso may have been some of the best I've ever had. I had the quesobirria tacos. The dipping sauce lacked luster. Somewhat bland, and really needed some additional seasoning in the meat inside the taco. The way it is served just seems to be an after thought. It's grilled, and sealed with cheese. They serve your onions and cilantro on the side? If you open the taco it will fall apart. The onions and cilantro need to be fried inside. STILL, absolutely delicious just underwhelming. Would I eat it again, yes. The service. This is a true GEM when discussing service. You are taken care of from the moment you sit down until you are ready to go. I was extremely impressed. The staff are truly top notch. I give it 4/5 stars on atmosphere just because of proximity. The establishment really does get overwhelmed with customers and this is why I feel the food took a slight hit with 3/5 stars for me. It honestly would not take much for this to be a 5/5 star establishment for me. They need a bigger establishment to allow customers more space to enjoy their meal. Will update my review with my next visit.
I have been going to El Toro's since they opened years ago. It has always been a nice, friendly atmosphere. They have outdoor seating that is under roof with TVs and fans. So it is a nice space to enjoy the outside with your food. Their food is always good and what you would expect. Their lunch specials are reasonable. It is a little more expensive than what you would anticipate paying for Mexican food, but it is good. They are very friendly and offer to go drinks. It is great to do carry out there as well because they make sure that you have chips and salsa to take home with you. Follow us for more great reviews™ Vegetarian options: They have all vegetarian specials. It is not labeled as vegetarian but clearly vegetarian. Parking: The parking lot is small and sometimes you have to park park on this side street next to T-Mobile.
Authenticity Mexican food. Fast service. We had the mole enchiladas which came with rice and beans as well as chips and salsa. Delicious.
What a wonderful experience. Very cordial. Very friendly and inviting. The service was fantastic. We were looking at a couple of different choices. One was a chain restaurant. The other was a more traditional place. Closer to something we would traditionally frequent. Tonight was two for one margaritas. I went with the Teto’s choice. Grilled chicken and shrimp covered in a cheese sauce. My wife went with the carnitas. For the table we had shrimp cocktail. As far as that goes, it was ok. Not the best we’ve ever had. The carnitas was amazing. My meal was fantastic as well. The charro beans were out of this world. Great meal!
Went in around 8PM or so on a weekday and they got us to a table quick. Place was clean, drinks refilled at a good pace, and the cheese dip was great. Salsa is extremely mild so it loses a star for that, might just not of been a good batch today. Tried the Tacos Al pastor for the first time and was not disappointed; the pineapple juices paired with the meatiness of the pork blends together well while the avocado brings it all together. Overall, El Toro is a great spot to get some good eats.
Server was great and accommodating! Delicious and lots of serving size.Food: 5/5
Good experience, very good staff, always working hard Parking: A lots of parking available
The food was great! This was my first visit to El Torro, and I have to say that I really enjoyed it. The restaurant was clean, the booths were modern and comfortable, the atmosphere was fun, and the service was great. I had the Chicken Fajitas and found them to be well seasoned and quite tasty. I asked for some of their homemade spicy salsa verde on the side, and it was some of the best that I’ve had in awhile. I use the salsa verde to drizzle a tiny amount down the middle of each tortilla shell before I add my chicken fajita mix. I highly recommend it if you’ve never tried it. It makes the difference between good and great it’s like adding a flavor bomb to your food.
A hidden gem in lexington. First the warm welcome form the people working there. A guy named Louis served us and he was so active responsive and his radient smile never left his face. We ordered steak tacos, and pregnant burrito. The portions were good, the taste was amazing. What to improve: Add some extra tissue paper on the tables. Parking: Is available
The food we had today was lack luster to say the least. My biggest complaint is the lack of basic seasoning. Every component of my meal needed salt. I ordered the chicken enchiladas in green sauce with rice & beans. The green sauce had an odd, off-putting sour flavor that was hard to get past. The chicken itself didn't taste good and beans were so bland I couldn't even eat them all. I would have sent the meal back; however, I ate almost half of it...hoping that with each bite the flavor would improve. My husband ordered the Carnitas and was equally disappointed. The best thing we had was the queso and chips. In years past I've eaten here and enjoyed the food but this visit was so disappointing, I likely won't return.
