Story

Dr. Otto Herod grew up in Harlingen,TX and graduated from South Texas High School for Health Professions in 1998. He then attended the University of A&M Kingsville and got a degree in Biology. Dr. Herod attended Baylor College of Dentistry and got his DDS degree in 2005. After graduating from dental school he moved to Tyler,TX where he had a successful private practice for 6 years. He then decided to be closer to friends and family in South Texas and moved to the San Antonio area in December of 2012. Dr. Herod took the practice over located at 1621 Pat Booker Dr. Universal City from Dr. Angel Goodman in Sept of 2013, and is excited to be serving the community of Universal City, San Antonio, Cibolo, Schertz, Converse, and Live Oak. He is currently a member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, and San Antonio dental Society, Academy of Osseointegration.

I have had two appointments to date at Elite Family Dental. An evaluation for a pained back molar and a subsequent follow up for a root canal and temporary crown. Tammy and Dr. Cano were really wonderful. My procedure was timely and was very thorough. The same day and the few days since, I've had little to no pain. I have a follow-up in a few weeks for my permanent crown and I'm not at all anxious about it. Each visit from reception to the physician, I was treated well and all my options were explained and estimated for me. I would absolutely recommend Elite Family Dental to anyone looking for a new dentist. I'm glad I listened to all of the great reviews and was also pleased that Elite (formerly Herod Dental) was on the approved physicians list through my insurance.

As someone who has a deep seated issue to avoid dentists. I finally was forced to go back to one for an extraction. Though these aren't "painless", the staff did their absolute best to make myself comfortable through the entire process. Dr. Herod performed the procedure with ample dexterity to cause myself hardly any discomfort. Will see them in the future for my other dental needs.

Feeling grateful to have found Elite Family Dental. Warm, authentic atmosphere here with staff and docs alike...and they have a sense of humor too but the best part of it all...NO PAIN!!! Had some anxiety since it's been a while since I was at the dentist and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. No more anxiety about trips to the dentist. Thanks!!!

This was my first visit and it was wonderful. All the staff were friendly and worked with me to use my insurance benefits the best possible way, clearly explaining all my options and what I can expect in the future to get back to being completely healthy.

i have along with my new dentist here in cctx have tried to get xrays to finish my daughter braces. They will not answer our calls return messages and send a letter stating they do not have xrays for my child. This is bad business mad xrays should never have been done away with. I will keep reporting. I have to pay cash money for my childs braces.
