My experience was good compared to other reviewers. Even though the visa office didn't answer the phone when I called (on more than one occasion), they responded to one of my two emails and I reached them via telephone by dialing the operator (press 0 at at the main menu) and explaining my need. The visa office requested an interview which incurred significant cost on my part (hotel room in DC and long distance bus ticket) but the officers were professional and friendly. Treat them with forbearance and you will probably experience the same in return.

I went in today to pick up my passport with Algerian visa. The service was great. The receptionist welcomed me, asked me to log in and was very friendly. She promptly called the visa section so the consulate employee came down and personally handed me my passport and visa. He was also very courteous. I had a great experience, but please note that the visa section is not on Kalorama Road, it is on Wyoming Avenue (which is right behind the embassy on Kalorama Road).

i called to schedule an appointment for my passport, they picked up shortly and they talked to me very nice, and also when i went to have my fingerprint taken in the consular building, they treated with respect and i really feel good they did everything they could to help me, please guys try to talk to them nicely if you want a matching result. i`m thankful that my experience with the Algerian consulate was good.
