The Dominion Dental Plan through Kaiser Permanente is a SCAM. It's fine if you do not attempt to do ANYTHING outside of the usual. I needed to take my child to a pediatric dentist. I was assured by Dominion (and KP) several times that all I'd need was a referral letter from the primary dentist. I did that and everything was fine until 5 months later, I was billed over $100 for a dental visit! I was in contact with Dominion Dental dozens of times over months. I was promised numerous times that the billing was an error on Dominion's side and that they'd take care of it. Each time I called back to verify the bill was handled, this is what I was told. Then, 6 weeks after receiving the bill, I was told that I was "misinformed" and that I'd need to pay the balance of the bill. I asked why it was that I went out of my way to get a referral letter, contact Dominion numerous times throughout the month... No answer. I talked to a manager who said he'd move it up the chain. Never heard back. Then I got a collection letter. In talking to the pediatric dental office manager, she told me this is 'kinda what Dominion does.' So, they lie to patients. Waste their time. Frustrate them. And, make the patient 100 percent responsible for the balance. Nice. KP has done NOTHING to help and are back DD. Of course.

I love nova Kaiser Permanente I have had Kaiser since before my son was born and he will be 26 August 3rd, 2017. I have always bragged on Kaiser to family and anyone else that will listen. I have been to all the Kaiser locations in DMV for one reason or another, and they are all great! My husband was diagnosed with leukemia 2 year's ago. He had a bone marrow transplant on October 8th. He had a bone marrow transplant on October 8th at John Hopkins in Baltimore. My son was his match. He was there for about 6 months. Although the transplant went well. He kept getting fungus and bacterial infections. I was there staying in there family house. Anyway last December I fell and broke my hip. Well I've already made this to long. Let's just say I wouldn't wish my worst enemy to see the Baltimore Kaiser. The Baltimore urgent care (care? That's a joke!!) Is the worst!

Kaiser is absolutely horrendous. It is beyond broken. If you are someone that never has any health issues and just needs the usual medications then pethaps Kaiser is the right place for you. If you need any degree of help, support, caring, follow-up care....forget about it. Almost every doctor I went to here misdiagnosed me and tried to give me a prescription that didn't address my concerns as I was immediately labeled a hypochondriac for not having the most easily addressable health concerns that may take a bit of work and more than 2 questions or 2 minutes to diagnose. One time I went to the "Urgent" care because I could barely breathe, feeling very light-headed/dizzy, a bit of tachycardia, and almost blacked out. I was guessing as to what could be the cause and suggested perhaps my hiatal hernia could be creating some of these symptoms...but I'd never had any of these symptoms before and I felt very concerned. I was discharged in under 15 minutes.....They told me they didn't have a GI at any of their Urgent care facilities and they couldn't help me. I asked them to at least expedite my case so I could see one very soon...I was having disturbing new symptoms and I didn't know what it was....I received no calls...no follow up...from anyone. I tried to make an appointment with a GI on my own, telling them I'd just been in Urgent care and the soonest they said they could see me at any of their locations was 3 weeks away. After many disappointing phone calls I went to the ER at Reston hospital.... I feel very badly for the people that go here and trust these people with more than a bandaid. I've seen quite a few doctors and specialists here...there is only 1 I would recommend to anyone. If I had not studied medicine myself and was not so proactive regarding my healthcare I would be in serious trouble or dead from "Kaiser care". Please pay extra and go with...just about any other provider...Kaiser is a deathtrap. Best of health to you! BC

I am new Kaiser member and I am only a month in to using this insurance. It takes a lot for me to leave a review but so far my experience with Kaiser has been pretty terrible. I recently saw Dr. Booth a general surgeon at Kaiser. As soon as Dr. Booth walked through the door her mannerism made me very uncomfortable. I was caught off guard by her immediate attitude but just went forward and explained while I was there. While I was talking the whole time she had this rude smirk on her face like she knew what I was going to say, like she deals with this all the time, like when will I be done talking so she can tell me I am wrong type face. Long story short she had the rude smirk the whole time and like she wanted to laugh, not very comforting. It made me so uncomfortable and I ended up asking her what was so funny and let her know how uncomfortable she was making me . She ended up acknowledging why she had the smirk on her face. I ended up not moving forward with a procedure I was supposed to have and left. The nurse came in and asked me if I paid a co-pay or any fee I said no not yet and she said they would reimburse me if I had one (the nurse was very nice btw). I could see the nurse could tell how uncomfortable that visit was and how upset I was by how the doctor spoke to me. I hope they stand by that if I end up with a bill in the mail. Although this was the worst experience I had with kaiser, its not the only unpleasant experience I had with them for the 1 month I have been a member.

I love Kaiser! Kaiser does medicine intelligently. You get what you need! I've been with Kaiser for the past 6 years, and for the most part couldn't be happier. Generally I can get an appt. within a week in most cases. Blood work is done immediately. Results are sent to me via email in a short time. Most services are contained in one building. Costs are not exorbitant! My general physician currently, Dr. Al-Hammood is kind, courteous and thorough. I'm grateful for Kaiser!
