Pretty lacking in fresh meats. Smaller selection of fresh vegetables. This is more like a quick stop store. Good news? Meijer in hudsonville opens up soon!

Overall good - but the checkout lines are always long, because they only have four lanes open at any given time, and there just isn't as much of a selection as I'd like for things like international foods.  Besides that, great!

Produce is only fair, and checkout takes a lot of time.  Family Fare doesn't seem to staff their checkout lanes nearly enough.  They have a lot of lanes, but only a small number are ever open.  This results in long waits.  Cashiers are sometimes chatty with their clients, which slows down the process as well.  Family Fare also barely has anyone dedicated to bagging groceries any more, which means the cashier and customer have to do it.  Just adds more time to the checkout process, which is very frustrating.  I used to prefer Family Fare over the competition, especially because I live right here in Hudsonville.  But with their higher prices, poor quality produce, and poor checkout experience, I am going to start doing my main shopping at Meijer, and just use Family Fare for quick small needs that I can utilize the self-checkout.  Sure hope Family Fare changes things in the future.  I will be happy to return to shopping there if they do.

Gallon of milk here - $4. Same gallon at Meijer - $2 Update: you only get advertised sale prices if you have one of their coupon cards. Note to management: why don't you just get rid of the card program and all of its associated infrastructure and costs, and just lower your prices for the shoppers?
