Gemmen's Hardware is truly a cornerstone of the city of Hudsonville. These guys have pretty much everything you can think of; especially when it comes to basic tools and hardware. It is about the only place around that you can walk in and buy just one screw, or one washer, without needing to buy a box of 50 or 100. They have friendly and helpful staff to assist shoppers, and the layout of the store is easy to navigate. The main gripe about Gemmen's is the pricing. Not everything is priced extremely high, but many things will cost you FAR more at Gemmen's than at other competing sources. I consider Gemmen's a source of hardware convenience, and I think that convenience comes with a price. If I have more time, and especially if I am looking at purchasing already expensive items, then I will usually take the time to shop elsewhere. But when I need something quickly and am willing to pay a bit extra, then Gemme's rarely disappoints. If you need something for a project around the house, then Gemmen's will surely have what you need. Highly recommended....just remember to hit the ATM to restock your wallet on the way there. :-)

Gemmen's has a broad range of products. Many tools that are less common or that are not carried by the big box stores (Home Depot, Lowe's, etc.) can be found here. The employees have a lot of knowledge, they are friendly, and it's just a nice place to walk around to get inspiration as well.

Prices are high, but employees are knowledgeable. If I have no idea what I'm doing like certain types of weeds In my yard I go here (with a sample). They answer my questions correctly and I'm fine paying more when they sell me what I need... If I know what I'm doing and don't need questions answered, I order it online or go to a big boxstore.

Love Gemmens - they have everything. I hope nothing changes with being Ace now instead of Do It Best.

Great help on a Saturday. My daughter lost her keys so we had to have our house deadbolts rekeyed. The guys got it done quicker and cheaper than I expected. Made my day. Thanks Gemmens.
