I went to this store because it's in the neighborhood, but after today I'll probably shop around or hit the online retailers instead. We were looking for kid's basketball shoes and being a cheapskate, I immediately went to the clearance rack. When I saw a pair we were interested in, I questioned the lady working there as to why the shoes on the clearance rack were more expensive  (by a whole nickle) than the exact same model (albeit yellow instead of white) on the non-clearance rack. Granted there was a sale going on to make the other shoes cheaper (by a whole nickle), but clearance (as explained to me by the lady) only meant they were closing out the white shoes and NOT discounting them additionally to do so. I felt that was really anti-American, and immediately went the internet to search for a better price as part of my patriotic duty. M'erica! After what seemed like an eternity of waiting on my 4G smartphone browser, I successfully found a lower price at JC Penny. I'm not sure why I  wasted my breath asking for a price match with this highly inflexible clerk, but I did. And, just like asking a 3yo if they'd like an extra serving of sour kraut, I was immediately told, "no!" Ok, how about a price guarantee of any sort, just in case the high-powered executive types pricing the white shoes came to their senses and deep-sixed the price later in the week. Again, it was a "nope! " Being the frugal guy I am, I reasoned that it would cost me more than $5 to drive my truck back and forth to JC Penny and sucked up Famous Footwear's inflated price. At the register, the clerk proceeded to tell me she could save me money by adding me to their registry and emailing me coupons, blah, blah, blah and that it would only take a couple of weeks to get the first coupons. Wow! What a time (and money) saver! Honestly, if this is what Famous Footware thinks is a good business model, I think I'll propose a new shoe store idea to the good folks at Redbox. Step up, throw down your money, and get new shoes. I have high hopes this will work because it's exactly what happened today at Famous Footware. And, the prices they'd have would certainly be lower because they wouldn't have to pay RoboClerk to work the register and repeatedly tell me, "no!"

Good selection. Someone is always willing to help you. Clean and spacious area. They run lots of BOGO's. Usually buy one get 1/2. Can be pricy, check clearance good good buys.
