I work 60 hrs a week in retail. My schedules are never the same. I have to do things when I can. Today I checked to see what time they closed was told 8pm. Arrived at 7:15 pm to get my daughter's hair cut and the door was locked. A woman came out and said she couldn't do her hair we would have to come back the next day. I work retail and it's the week of mother's day. "The next day" doesn't really work when y'all aren't supposed to close for another 45 minutes. Horrible customer service just lost my business and I tip well lady. Guess you juju seriously missed out. Won't EVER return!

Going to the hairdressers is generally a chore - something that you go in, have done, and then go to the next thing. My experience at Fantastic Sams was so much more than that. I didn't go in expecting to leave feeling so much better about myself. 

I walked in and it was empty except for one employee (because it's SC and it's a snow day), and she asked me what I was hoping to get. Honestly, I never know. I dye my hair black (well...my boyfriend does with a box color) and I've never really known how to style or cut based on my face shape and needs. Rhonda took everything I said and treated my hair like art - she's worked for years in the industry, so she's a true professional, but it was more than just this that made the experience so great. 

We talked about all sorts of topics - from body positivity, youth and motivation, the current accusations circling the news, life and love, movies, and so much more. She can talk to anyone about anything with genuine interest and passion. Another customer came in while I waited for my hair dye to set, and she spoke with him just as confidently and he left with a great hair cut and experience, too. It's not often you get past the weather and "how long have you been a hairdresser" conversations, but I'm so glad we did because it was genuinely an enriching experience. If not talking is your thing, I know she'd sense that and be quiet, too. 

At the end, she made sure that every hair was perfectly trimmed, colored, and styled, and then went out of her way to show me how to style it the same way. No one has ever done that before, and it felt so good to know that I could replicate what she had done to my hair. 

The place itself is really nice and modern. It's clean, comfortable, and set up really well. They have brand new materials and tools since it's a new location. 

I fully recommend going here because it was just such a great experience. I feel like a new person, and that was what was so endearing and great about Rhonda - she said she'd had other goals in life before this, but she wouldn't change what she does because she brings confidence and joy to people through the art of haircutting. It wasn't some chore that needed to be checked off - it was a whole experience that is designed to get you the look you want, at a great price, so you can go into your life with confidence and excitement.
