Ben is the most helpful salesperson I have ever dealt with regarding a vehicle!  I put 60,000-70,000 miles a year on my vehicle.  It's important to have someone I trust looking out for me.  I won't take my vehicle anywhere else.

Firestone, it would seem, tries to up sell it's customers by trying to scare them into purchasing services that are not necessary. 

I say this because I took my 2006 Honda Accord there to have an alignment done after having purchased four new tires. 

The sales person I delt with was very friendly.... And it would have been very easy for me to trust his assessment, were I not a machinist who builds high precision components for the automobile manufacturing industry... as well as having  worked on my own cars for years and had known better.
 I don't look like the machinist/mechanic type.

They called me back up to the desk and told me that they would not do the alignment with out fixing other related mechanical issues (tie rod ends etc..) which they claimed would make doing the alignment pointless unless they were new... 

They also claimed that the tires were badly out of alignment...

This I knew to be incorrect as the tires that were removed after 4 years showed no indication of wear..in a toe in or toe out fashion at all. This condition assessment coming from the tech who replaced them with the NEW tires that were put on my car 5 days prior.   Not to mention I am also, well aware of how to tell when the alignment is out based on tread wear....so I knew his assessment to be true...

To make this situation even more fishy... I overheard another sales rep telling another customer who was also there for an alignment the exact same thing...

So instead of spending around $100. For the alignment they were wanting me to spend over $1000......

 I opted to NOT LET THEM DO THE REPAIRS OR THE ALIGNMENT...

Interestingly at this point the salesman took this opportunity to inform me of their "credit options" 

 But it gets even better. I had already planned to take my car to a Honda dealership IN Nashville to have an unrelated issue fixed on the Friday following the Saturday in which I had taken the car to Firestone. 

 To test my theory,  I asked the service tech (at Honda) to do a four wheel alignment after checking to be sure all the pertinent parts where ok.

 If you've ever taken your car to a dealership service dept then you know most of the time they are MORE than happy to suggest having parts replaced if it is needed and this particular one I go to is great about keeping me informed about parts that may soon need to be replaced. 

The service tech found NOTHING wrong.

 Infact... He also said that the existing  alignment, BEFORE THEY did the alignment, was not very bad at all....very little difference from the alignment findings they had from the last time I was there which had been 2 years ago..... 

I had also asked Firestone to check the break pads and rotors on the back of the car since I KNEW they needed to be changed.... They of course said that they still had plenty of life left. 

As expected, the Honda Mechanic had a far different opinion of their condition. One which I knew to be true....

Looking over some of the other 5 star reviews for this Firestone...I noticed that Many of them are from people who have only reviewed one place....this Firestone...hmmmmm

I will never go to Firestone in Bellevue off of highway 70 again.

Stopped in without an appointment to get a new battery. The guys were super friendly and helpful. Had me in and out with a new battery quickly. Would definitely recommend to others. I will be back if I need any other repairs
