Story

Our Approach is Different

Kevin Votta founded Better Body Fitness in 2007 to make a lasting difference in the lives of his clients. Utilizing Muscle Activation Techniques™ (MAT), Kevin was able to work with a wide array of clients: from post-rehab and post-chemo to professional athletes. Better Body Fitness trainers taught clients how to sustain fat loss and/or increase muscle mass, and helped prevent future injury. Kristin Rink Votta joined the Better Body Fitness Team in 2009 after starting as a client. In 2010, Better Body Fitness joined Fitness-Tek with the intention of purchasing the established company and studio in Citrus Park (Odessa), Florida. In 2012, Kevin and Kristin acquired Fitness-Tek. Their 2nd location was opened in 2013 serving clients in Downtown Tampa. Most recently, they came to Pinellas County with a location in the Feathersound area of Clearwater. They have been expanding the Fitness-Tek Team to reach as many clients as possible.

Recently had my first session with Kevin, and it was amazing. Very professional, and covered the science side of MAT is a very understandable way. After just an hour and a half he did a full lower body check-up, and gave me some exercises to work on during my time at home. After working these exercises, my lower back pain (which had been persistent for over 10 years) completely went away. Not only that, but he emailed me within a few days after the session to check on how I was doing, and to make sure I understood exactly how to do the exercises the most effective way. Truly worth the visit, and I would recommend this to anyone dealing with chronic pains, or even those simply trying improve the results of their regular workouts.

As a lifelong yo-yo dieter and full-time exercise procrastinator, I've struggled and failed with every diet & exercise program you can name. Thank goodness for Fitness-Tek!! Their philosophy and approach is not only totally different from the weight loss industry mythology, it actually produces real, sustainable results WITHOUT struggle. I eat a lot and I only moderately exercise. I've never felt hungry, sore or overly tired. They really make it easy to stick with it and I feel AWESOME.

For my entire life I have been active, but a little heavy. Not that I'm a useless blob - I've run a marathon and completed the Warrior Dash. But my job, kids, and age have resulted in me being the heaviest, most over-weight I have ever been. What is the worst part about it all is that I felt crappy ALL THE TIME. I have tried several times to get in better shape, but never stuck with it and ultimately resulted in disappointment. I am thrilled to report that my experience with Fitness-Tek has been the opposite of disappointment - they are great! Kevin and Kristin are consistently motivating, educating, and working with me in ways that I wouldn't have ever thought. The Muscle Activation Technique system is something that I have never encountered before, but have found to be interesting and useful. The nutritional analysis is definitely useful. I like the idea of working on skills first and performance later. The only downside I can see is that they don't have a shower. But it isn't a big deal. You know, you can work out was much as you want on your own, but since you don't know what you don't know, you'll never know, unless you have a professional teach you. And that is what Fitness-Tek does.

Kevin and Kristin Votta are the ultimate professionals and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. Not too long ago, I injured my hamstring and had been unable to run or do much with it at all for some time. Kevin performed MAT on me and now I am back at the gym doing weights, riding my bike and running again. Not only that but after working out with Kevin and eating his nutrition plan, I have never had so much energy! These guys are the real deal!

The trainers on staff are very professional and very knowledgeable. They helped educate me on the right foods to eat and taught me what I needed to do to get in shape and stay toned. The fitness studio is the perfect size and always so clean. The one on one training is the best in the area. They are always so flexible with my schedule. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for the best personal trainers in town!
