What a remarkable historical site to visit! You need time and a video camera to get in the full visit. You can have a guide or do it yourself. It's amazingly beautiful with landscape and the house & decor. I need to visit a second time in order to obtain the full visit. You watch the video prior to the tour. The cost is decent. I wouldn't recommend it foe small kids or disabled people. Too many stairs and no elevator access to see the floors and rooms. A child of 12+ would probably appreciate the tour. Anyone else under that age may be bored and not allow you to experience the full potential visit. Parking is easy to find on the streets and surrounding neighborhood. I had fun!

I love this museum! Absolutely gorgeous inside! The people there were so great about telling you all about the house and answering any questions you have. Loved the experience!

The house is beautiful. The structure is truly a masterpiece, both my wife and I appreciate architecture of that time period and didn't have time to go through everything including the video, this is where I give it three stars instead of a much deserved '5'. First off, we went into the foyer of the Flavel house with our tickets only to be greeted by a rude response by the lady 'standing guard'. She informed us that we needed to go to the visitors center to get more information and a hole-punch on our ticket prior to entering the Flavel house. So we did so and spent a little time there(unfortunately had to skip out on the video due to time) and returned to the Flavel house. There the lady basically made us feel guilty for not watching the video, though she should be happy that we wanted to come and and see this beautiful house. I don't doubt that she loves the house and the history behind it as I wish I could have had time to appreciate as well, but we adored the house and would come back, only if the lady that was in the visitors center could trade positions with the lady in the house, because the other lady was very sweet. But do take your time here, it is truly worth the time!

I was looking for things to do for my birthday one year and we found this place. Loads of fun to go in and walk around to see. Lots of interesting tid bits and items to check out. A lot of good Oregon history in the house as well.
