Our first choice when visiting from out of state to visit our daughter at MMA over in Castine.  The place is of an older era, has that dated charm we like.  Certainly a great little town to spend a couple nights at.  Always @ the top of my critical list: how is the "Hot Water" for showers and after about a minute (or less) plenty of hot water.  The beds were comfortable, clean and the rooms we have had were "decent" clean.  Some hardware had been replaced and the old holes were still visible.  (I have a few holes in doors at home so not a big deal for me)  Breakfast very limited but we knew that going in, nothing hot but the coffee.  Pleasant staff each time were stayed here.  Will stay again.

Ok hotel in the city of Bucksport, ME.  The place is kinda old, but it's clean enough.  The staff is friendly.  Definitely book a room on the water side!  The view of the river, fort and bridge is super.

Well it was all great the weather was good we enjoyed our stroll on the amazing water front and shopping the shops.  However I can tell you I will never stay here again, the main reason we stayed here was it was in the middle of town and we wanted to enjoy the waterfront walking path however we found out from reading the paper that the owner Larry Green want to  block the access from 8 PM to 9:30 AM.  Well this is unfortunate as we walked every morning around  7 AM and was the major perk and the article I feel was threatening and discouraging.  I will gladly take my business elsewhere and feel bad for the folks who use this path as well as the businesses that will be hurt.

What a great location. Make sure to get a river side room. Very comfortable room and very quiet.

The staff and scenery in this place can't be beat. Nighttime views of the lit up fort Knox and Verona Bridge are beautiful!
