A good place for a short walk with the kids or dog. Palmetto Fort is 0.7 mi from the parking lot. This is Lowcountry, so be prepared after rain to deal with large puddles that may cover parts of the trail. The end of the trail provides open views and access to the marsh.

Beautiful trail along the old Mt Pleasant defense line designed by Robert E. Lee ends at Palmetto Battery overlooking Copahee Bay. A remnant of our past.
