Update as of 2018-Feb: I had an amazing experience at Founding Farmers Tysons recently! To my surprise and delight I was told that fried vegetables are no longer fried in animal fat. To add to that, I tried their new impossible burger (plant based) and it tastes amazing! The fried green tomatoes tasted great as well. I really appreciate the restaurant's efforts to listen to customer feedback and offer various options. I really wanted to give another chance to Founding Farmers as it used to be my favorite restaurant until I heard about their cooking method (see below). I am happy and hope to return very soon! Old Review from 2017: I was surprised and shocked to learn that EVERYTHING that's served fried at this restaurant has beef tallow/fat in it. It's disgusting and unacceptable. Especially for a vegetarian like me, it is terrible. There is absolutely no need or necessity that french fries or fried green tomatoes needs to be fried in tallow. What's worse is that there is no option that vegetarians could get these things fried in regular vegetable oil. I will never set foot in founding farmers again.

If you are going on weekends, plan ahead as this place gets busy. The food was really fresh and tasty and service was great. A friend of mine recommended to order the impossible burger! It’s veggie burger with soy extract . I am not vegetarian but I ordered to see what’s the deal ! Try it ! You won’t be disappointed . My husband ordered the shrimp and lobster risotto and it was perfect.

I've only been here for the all-you-can-eat weekend brunch. With that being said, this place is amazing. From what I understand all of their food is made in-house, and it definitely shows. Everything is delicious. Great atmosphere too. Note that you might want to call ahead and check out how crowded it is before going.

As many have stated, fantastic food and service. You know that it is a great place when there are so many people waiting for tables in the lobby area and you get your table 15 minutes after your reservation simply because there are no tables available yet. The steak and enchilada turned out perfectly. I ordered a medium steak and the steak arrived medium. Perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked. Other members in the party ordered the lamb chops and the steak frites. Kudos to Founding Farmers for an excellent job feeding such large crowds in multiple locations.

Founding Farmers is at a restaurant crossroads. It is upscale, but I wouldn't consider it "fancy", however this still doesn't stop some patrons from dressing in almost an out-of-place level of formality suited to a 90s steakhouse. The southern, comfort foods are somewhat disguised as healthy due to the "Farm to table" labeling, which while misleading is delicious to guests. Health conscious and animal friendly types will appreciate the diverse vegetarian offerings and gluten free items. The service is typically fantastic, with knowledgeable staff, just-right wait times, and attentive personnel. The noise level on the "bar" side is quite loud, and unfortunately a reservation can still land you there. The dining room side is much more pleasant, so if you are looking for a more relaxed evening you may need to specifically request that area. In terms of value its a bit expensive for dressed up comfort food, though the presentation is great. The drinks, while delicious, are very overpriced, with cocktails between $13 and $15. For appetizers, drinks, and entrees for 2 people it was almost $100. The wait can be very long, which is a good sign for a place like this; I would advise reservations in advance. Parking is awkward, in a small garage next door with highly restrictive painted spots, however I appreciate that FF validates parking. Valet is available for a nominal charge. Overall a great option for the Tysons area, just be advised what you are getting yourself into.
