We had a great night at the restaurant. They were super accommodating to my food allergies. The balsamic vinegar on the peach salad was delicious. The only imperfection was the beef Wellington was undercooked. The puff pastry was doughy, which just needed a few more min in the oven. Dietary restrictions: I have soy, gluten and dairy allergy. I called the store and they were very acclimating to my allergy. I ended having a great dinner there.
Went here for our anniversary and it was amazing. The waitress was really friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, highly recommend the rags and beef. We're already talking about going back to try their brunch menu.
We happened upon this place by accident and I am so grateful we did. To start please know that this is a true “your mom is cooking an amazing dinner” kind of place, and amazing food takes time. So grab a drink or two from the great bartender, sit back, relax, and if you are outside people watch. I highly recommend the crab cakes because they were delightful and mainly lump crab with little filler. A must try next time you are in Shadyside.
I came here last night for my anniversary with my boyfriend and we got a nice little table in front of the window. The atmosphere was very nice. I got the chicken for dinner and it was delicious. I also had to order the chocolate coconut cake for dessert which was also a good choice. Overall it was a wonderful evening! Definitely recommend coming here for a nice night out.
We went to Frances for brunch and were not disappointed. The food was excellent and Chris was an awesome server! The owner even came out to say hello and introduce herself. We will definitely be back soon for brunch and also for dinner. Make sure you put Frances on your list of restaurants to try, I know you'll love it!
We went her for date night when another restaurant had a 1 hr wait time. We asked if they could squeeze us in. Within 5 minutes, we were ordering drinks at the bar. Everything here is fresh and expertly made. We enjoyed all parts of the meal.
Absolutely delightful. We went for brunch and were immediately impressed with the beautiful decor and friendly staff. The food did not disappoint! Delicious and diverse selection of options and libations! Highly recommend!
Atmosphere and drinks, 5 stars. Server was wonderful as well. When it came to our entrees, missed the mark by a lot. My beef Wellington was damn near raw. It was as though they tried to make it to order but didn’t do much aside from burn the pastry trying to rush. My husband’s halibut was not seasoned and tasted like it was dropped in a deep fryer with used oil. We ordered the baklava for dessert and it clearly went from the freezer to the microwave. It was like a hot pocket; burning hot on the ends and ice cold in the middle. Not the greatest first time experience, especially cause it was our anniversary.
The atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice. However we went at 6:40. Ordered a drink - they returned and said they were out of it. Same thing happened with 1 of the 7 entrees on the menu. Steak was over cooked and service super slow. Paid a good deal of money and was pretty disappointed. Left with 2 free appetizer coupons for a future visit rather than a comped meal for overcooked food. Had high hopes but won’t be back.
Great food. Rags and beef are amazing. Nice ambience and good service
