I’ve been a patient of Franklin Family Practice for at least 25 years. I do miss Dr. Steckel very much. I have seen both Dr. Seleem and Dr. Strauss many times since her passing. They have been excellent doctors and I’m very happy to have them as my doctors. I have been very happy with all of the nurses and staff as well. My husband and my children are also patients and feel the same way.
Myself, my parents and son have all been clients at this practice from when Dr. Steckel was the attending physician. Today I raced to get my elderly mother who has neuropathy in both legs and recently diagnosed with dementia to her appointment. We were a few minutes late due to the mobility issues and turned away by the front desk receptionist ALYSSA and told to reschedule because office policy is 7 minutes instead of 8. The receptionist ALYSSA would not allow me to speak with Dr Strauss and gave me the nastiest attitude I have ever witnessed. Dr Strauss is a great doctor and I liked the practice up until now. This left a horrible taste in my mouth. please teach your office staff to be kinder and understanding or even just have appropriate bedside manners.
This office is a joke, either they take your blood work & lose them or they take your blood work and tell you there’s nothing you can do to increase anything that is low. A WBC came back low and whoever they have on the phone to give you the news tells you “you can’t do anything to fix it” “it can JUST be a underlying infection or getting over a cold but that is normal” clearly slow. You tell her a simple google search says different and you would like to speak to the doctor who requested the work, for her to call you and say not to be disrespectful and feel free to go somewhere else. Fariha Saleem A office who takes your blood and money can’t give a simple way to fix a solution and finds that being educated by their patients is disrespectful. Never a great experience there & they all seem to lack intelligence. Fariha then focuses on calling a patients mother who is over 21 as if this is some school situation instead of focusing on providing information on how patients can fix their issues. Not sure what she thinks calling someone’s parent will solve. To note- Last visit, Fariha Salem did not even listen to my chest, check my ears or nothing but sat down and gave informational speech for one of the issues that I was there for. You are better off finding a better office to work with!
I have been a patient at Franklin Family Practice for almost 10 years. Fariha Saleem is an amazing and caring doctor. She uses years of practice instead of google. I'm pretty picky and think I know everything. I'm lucky to have met her as a primary. She works with you. Backround BA, RN, BSN
The reviews and lack of stars say it all. I have been a patient here for several years. Once Dr. Steckel passed away, this practice hasn't been the same. Dr. Strauss is good and patient & bringing in Dr. Saleem has been wonderful. However, the front desk, who they should have reading the reviews on here, need TRAINING except for a very select couple...they are Unprofessional, Rude, Lack Empathy and Tact, they are unorganized and don't listen I shouldn't have to constantly repeat myself. They also need to be more understanding of people's privacy, I don't need to explain every detail of why I need an appointment. I'm paying for my appointment so what does it matter to the front desk person what I'm seeing the Dr. about? As much as I am dreading having to transfer all my medical records to a different office, I dread having to deal with the front desk even one more time! Count myself and my husband as one less patient for this ever declining office!
I had an appointment at 1pm today and was late due to traffic! I arrive 12 mins after to check in and the elderly lady at the front tells me she has to reschedule my appt they have a 10 min grace period!!!!! Are you freaking kidding me??? Because I arrived 2 mins after the grace period you need to completely reschedule my appointment. That is completely freaking ridiculous! I could've definitely still been seen by the doctor, but clearly they want to make things difficult for patients instead of trying to help! Rescheduling my entire appointment over two minutes is completely stupid and ridiculous. The doctor is amazing but things like this need to be addressed it’s just ridiculous! I see why people are leaving this place! Treat your patients better!
I have been a long time patient of FFP. Dr. Steckle was the one who delivered me as a baby and delivered my first born as well. She was truly special to my family and I. I know a lot has changed since her passing, but I recently took a chance and made an appointment with Dr. Saleem for my yearly checkup. Let me just say that she is amazing! She takes the time to listen to your concern and helps you understand your options. She is knowledgeable and modern. Someone you can relate to. I would recommend her to anyone.

I've been generally pleased here the past 10 years or so that my wife and I have been going here. I was disappointed during my recent annual physical, when it seemed the doctor seemed less interested in listening to me about my health and health concerns and more concerned about telling me what she felt I should be concerned about. Which, OK, fair enough; she's the doctor. On the other hand, I *wanted* to discuss a concern I had, and was told she wasn't going to deal with that. Which is kind of the opposite of why we go to see doctors. Communication is a two-way street.Patients need to heed the medical expertise of their physicians, but physicians also need to respect the lived experience of their patients, particularly when the patient is trying to raise a health issue. Ultimately I blame myself for allowing the doctor to brush me off, but as a patient I shouldn't have to compel a doctor to listen to me.
I’ve been going here for over 20 years. Went downhill since dr Steckel passed away. Tried calling for my birth control prescription sent to pharmacy- they said can’t unless I go in for physical. Then tried to get my yearly mammogram prescription sent and they say Oh sorry you have to come in for another physical. Meanwhile I’m in fine health, no conditions-43yrs old and I can’t get my birth control or mammogram. Needless to say my whole family is changing doctors. No flexibility here it’s ridiculous. FYI last tele visit was last March during Covid. Kind of sad after so long here. Dr Steckel was wonderful and delivered my daughter 7 yrs ago, cared for my son as well and all my cousins and sister. Done. Done done
