Update: harder and harder to buy here.  I love the space and products, but this morning I called to see if I could drop off my PC I purchased here for repairs.  24 minutes on hold before I could talk to a person.  

The last time I went in to buy in the PC Accessory dept (I was buying 3 PC's) I waited 15 minutes before being helped.

I realize it's tough to staff up in retail, but Fry's could learn a thing or two from Best Buy.  I'd like to see this store survive, but not sure how it can with such slow customer service.

If you are in a rush and cannot wait on Amazon, yes Fry's will do in a pinch. However, what I have come to expect from Fry's Electronics is the worst customer service on the planet. I bet I could find a resident of a nursing home that knew more about electronics than the the average FE employee. On multiple occasions I have asked questions and had them guess or out right lie. 

Another thing you need to watch for is them reselling used products and calling it "new." More than once I have purchased a "new" HDD from FE only to find content on the "new" HDD when I installed it. That is shady as it gets. Management is also no fun to deal with. 

Pro tip; make sure you check you receipts,  I have had them double charge me for large items and the receipt checker at the door not do there job. This mistake took 5 hours of my day to fix. 

Bottom line, you get what you pay for.

Amazing. Unless you're an employee. Schedule 12-10.1 hour after close.
After holidays. At 10:46 pm my ride is pissed and my kids are asleep. Come on man

Went in to buy the snes classic, was told by a worker they had one left in stock and it was being held for a friend. She was very polite, but yeah, employees hold stock on hard to find items. Would not recommend. Go to the Best Buy down the road or use Amazon instead.
