Owner Charlie Holboke has been selling books since 1978! He originally operated in Seaside under the name Turnaround Books from 1978-1999, but Godfather's has been in Astoria since 1993, having recently celebrated it's 20th birthday in 2013!
Fun fact: Charlie was the very first to serve espresso in Seaside in 1986!

If the mood suits you, sit down, order a fresh brewed house coffee or an espresso and enjoy our quirky atmosphere and wi-fi--or maybe even a bit of conversation with the locals!
HOWEVER-- PLEASE NOTE: We do not buy books through the door!!! Even if you are just looking to donate, we would prefer if you brought them to the local thrift stores/goodwill. We have a scout who takes care of the used book inventory. If you have something unusual, you can e-mail us for consideration. Thank you!!
