Silver faced nirvana for the vintage stereo freak. Quirky and hit and miss at best. Too bad. As much as I want to love this place, it is just difficult to use them. Went to purchase something new that they did not have in stock but could get as a dealer. Took my name and number and would call with a possible delivery date - never heard back and that date has slipped. If you are looking for something vintage this is the place. But beware, vintage is vintage and there are risks associated with that. This place would be perfect if the customer service could kick it up a notch or three. Long way to go.

I have tried to purchase something at Gold Sound 3 times in the past couple of years, to no avail. I've gone in with specific goals and a general idea of what I was willing to pay and rather than assisting me towards those goals they have argued with me and ultimately convince me not to buy anything at all from them. It has made me wonder how they are still in business. I've ended up spending more money somewhere else partly because the experience was so much more pleasant. I regularly try to buy locally when ever possible, which is nearly impossible with audio equipment anymore, but will NEVER set foot in Gold Sound again. Even if they are the last Brick and Mortar audio retailer left in Denver Metro.

I came in on a Friday night about 1/2 hour before closing, looking for a mixing board. Owner tried to sell me a used board that was 30 years old telling me it was much better than a modern board. I asked a few questions and he told me they were closing and that I had to leave. It just seemed like he was not interested in selling me what I wanted, but what he wanted to get rid of. Not very open minded about products that he doesn't really know about.

Staff is knowledgeable and the place has a great selection of used stereo equipment, vinyl and decent selection of new hifi equip. Marantz, ELAC, Rega, Pro ject, Grado, Focal and much more.
