My boyfriend and I came for the Buffet Americana and were treated to an immense amount of delicious food. The line was long but was also constantly moving. We were in line maybe less than 20 minutes, but the wait was definitely worth it. Not only was there seafood but also complimentary wine and beer! There were crab legs, roasted duck, chicken souffle, and more and more and more. They also had the most delicious lemon icebox pie, just when I thought no one could produce such a tasty version of that pie as I remember from my childhood. We will definitely return.

Hotel room was decent and well appointed.
Brought 2k to play with and neither my boyfriend or myself could make anything happen at the tables or slots.  They were SUPER TIGHT.
Service was adequate but slow.  They have a nice rewards program, but o would rather see some jackpots than a free night at their casino.
Was very disappointed when they refused to honor their military program to my boyfriend, a veteran.  His drivers license shows military and that was not sufficient.

The rooms have always been nice and clean.  For a view of the river, ask for a room facing the front otherwise you may be looking at the roof top of Horseshoe.  They are good about switching if you are not satisfied.  The pool is small but clean and the workout facility is well equipped.

My husband and I have been at Gold Strike for several several years and always enjoyed it there. In the past three years they have cut back so much that the hotel is suffering. You used to could play and he enjoy yourself for a couple of days but no more the machines are so tight. Loosen up the machines a little and loosen up your belts a little and let your customers enjoy more

Saw Robert Cray concert.  My first time at a casino.  People gambling looked like zombies.  The food choices were very limited.  The service was terrible.  People at the ticket booth and restaurants were rude.  One restaurant wouldn't seat us, even though half the tables were empty, because they said the kitchen was behind on orders.  Robert Cray was great!
