Goodwill Keystone Area (GKA), a not-for-profit organization, covers a 22-county territory in southeastern and central PA and is a member of the Goodwill Industries International.

GKA collects and sells donated items in thrift stores and provides business services such as custodial, document shredding and laser cartridge remanufacturing to businesses and government. Proceeds from thrift stores and business services fund job training and employment programs. Our stores, donation centers, and business services also serve as training grounds for people seeking and utilizing our services.

Goodwill believes that work is the fundamental building block of community. Employment provides economic independence, as well as the secondary gains of preventing and minimizing other social problems. We believe in giving a hand up, not a hand out.

The purchase side may be very nice, but I have donated twice here and been stunned at how rude and ungrateful the people working here are. They act as though they are doing you a favor and seem to think you are trying to put something over on them. I would recommend another charity or location if convenient.

Second time I have been turned away with donations. This time I called first and described what I had and was told no problem they would accept it. When I arrived at the back door donation center I was rudely told that we are "not accepting no furniture" when I told her that I called and was told small furniture was ok, I was told again, rudely, "well they should check with me first." I told her fine I don't have time for your games, and I'm sure the Salvation Army will be glad to accept my items. She said "fine I'm sure they will". I would suggest that Goodwill invest in some customer service training for your back door personnell. This experience turned me off from considering Goodwill for any future donations or shopping.

Called ahead to see if they could help us to unload a dresser that we wanted to donate, they said that was fine. When we arrived, they turned us away, said they had no room. The woman was extremely rude and walked away while I was still speaking to her. If you want to donate, try Friends of James at on Route 191/Linden Street just north of Route 22. They were very pleasant and more of a charity, as opposed to the business that Goodwill has turned into.

This is probably one of the smallest stores I've been in. Not very much to choose from. Very clean place though.
