Only stayed one night in November 2017.  It's a little hard to find driving the labyrinth of road in the village.  But worth the search.  Super nice campground with lots of space between sites.  I think the sites on both sides of me were booked, but I could barely hear anything.  Bathrooms were clean and they had a little dish washing sink on the outside of the bathroom building - would have been nice if there was a counter to put dishes on and if they had hot water.  

I didn't use the showers as they were way at the entrance of the campground and I was staying with family the next night where I could shower for free.  I would definitely stay here again during my next visit to the Grand Canyon.  You can't beat the convenience of staying in the village.  But, there are some brave ravens that will visit your campsite looking for treats!

Wow!! what a fantastic day. Enjoyed the breeze and camping. Thrilled when Wolves were Howling in the mid of night. Had a visitor (ELK) in the morning to our camp. Kids enjoyed every moment here. Very safe!!!

This would be 4.5 stars, if I could.  We had a great time here over 3 nights.

Pros:
Plenty of trees for shade and hanging hammocks, clotheslines, etc.
Fairly easy walking distance to the rim, general store, restaurant, visitor center, etc.
Nearby general store is incredibly well stocked and most items are more reasonably priced than I expected (although they'll gouge on a few items, like batteries)
Clean, well-stocked bathrooms with flush toilets.
Clean showers that aren't too expensive at $2 for 8 min. of hot water
Large laundromat.
Ground takes stakes well and holds them firmly.
Very reasonably priced at $18/night

Cons:
Most of the tent pads are at least a little uneven.  They're not too bad, but there's good odds you'll be at least at a bit of an angle.
The campsites are all fair-sized, but are still right on top of each other.  This is pretty normal for a national park drive-in campground, so don't expect any privacy.
No recycling in the campground, only trash.

The facilities (shower/bathroom) were kept clean and in good shape. It was a Little always from the main road so it was pretty nice and quiet. Each campground was pretty big that you can fit a few tents in if you wanted to.

Great place to camp, everyting was really clean including restrooms, we had restrooms close by, which i dont think you can be really far from a restroom no matter where you camp, showers where really clean and have hot water!, they operate with quarters and there is a quarter machine so dont worry.
Animals get really close by to tje camping sites, deer and elk walked right by our tent and layed pretty close, watch out for crows because they will take your stuff and make a mess if you leave trash out. 
Overall it was great camping there, best place ive camped at, make sure you make reservations with time as they fill up with months in advance.
