This review is only for the restaurant. We got the breakfast and the food was tasty, though overpriced. I got the french toast and it was extremely small, made on low-quality bread. However, the other meals looked and tasted decently, such as the burrito and the big breakfast (north rim breakfast I think). I would give the lodge overall 5+ stars. Beautiful and clean. Much better than South Rim!

Beware of servers charging extra service charge!!! We were at the restaurant yesterday and though we had great food and a great experience, our server, Nate, handed us a bill with an 18% gratuity for $49, and a service charge down below for $49. He said it just looked like it was a double charge but it wasn't. He finally offered to remove it after I called him out on it. He even went over and told a coworker who looked over at us. He knew he had been caught. The layout of the bill made this almost impossible to detect. Beautiful views and good food, just scammy wait staff. He didn't know he was waiting on someone who had worked in a park and knew the tricks:)

I have been to both the South Rim and the North Rim of the Canyon and the North Rim is so much better then the South. The ride to the Caynon is almost as nice as the view you will get once you have arrived. The meadows go on forever as you drive, only to be outdone by the Canyon itself. I have been to some beautiful places but, this is right up there with the best. Elevation is high, around 8900ft and it gets cold at sunset. A must on your bucket list. The lodge is a nice added edition but, not a reason to go..

The architecture of the lodge is simply gorgeous, as is the view. Ate at the lodge restaurant two nights while camping. View from the lodge is fantastic, but we weren't seated by the windows either night. Food is pricey and just okay, but that's what you get when you're so remote. Served as an excellent refuge when our campsite got too windy and cold. If you're camping and looking for a hot meal you don't have to cook yourself, and you're okay with 25-30 for an entree, enjoy dining at the lodge.

First, the food is merely okay and overpriced but that's not why you go to the North Rim Lodge. You go for comforting nostalgia and the view, which the NR Lodge has in spades. I first went when my Grandfather took me and then right recently took my wife. When our campsite became unbearable dude to fall weather (heavy winds) we just hung out at they Lodge after a long day of hiking. We enjoyed the view, talked about how much we loved the building, and eventually had some dinner as we waited out the storm. It was a good time all around.
