While normally I love to eat at granite city, yesterday my experience was less then pleasurable.We had a wonderful meal but my friend went to the rest room and they brought the people who were taking our table before we were ready to go. We had her 7 month old son and as the new people for the table waited I was forced to leave having to grab all of our stuff and the baby. The problem came on when they were so packed I had to wait for his mom outside in 16 degree weather. While I understand they want to turn tables quickly 3 minutes would not have made too much of a difference. I will not be returning for some time.

Went for happy hour today. Place had less than 10 people in bar. Waited for drinks after ordering them, bartender brought wrong beer, had to ask repeatedly for water, after 45 mins a new waitress asked if we wanted food. She was great! All beer seemed to be over carbonated as every beer poured a foam bomb and had to dump and rest. Hope they get that fixed. Food was great as usual.

Server could not manage our party. It took multiple passes to get acknowledged so we could even order drinks. Several of us sent our food back because the meat was uncooked in the center (not rare, but raw). The manager all but told us we were making it up because the bacon wrapped round the meatloaf was making it look pink.. There's quite a difference between pink meat and raw meat. Asked us if we just wanted it cooked more, which I'm pretty sure isn't food safe. Poor experience with the wait time and the lack of service orientation by the staff we dealt with. Some of the food was good, but not enough for me to consider ever returning.

Date night with my wonderful husband. We're from Detroit, but travelled to this location for the heck of it. Restaurant was clean, our server Nick was very professional and courteous. Took a while to get our dinner, around 45 mins. I had the London Broil, asked for medium rare was more on the medium well side but still tender. It had this bbq like sauce on it, which was tasty, but way too much of it.

I find this a relaxing low-key restaurant. Food is good and unpretentious. I like the food here for the same reason I like Boston Market... Adult comfort food. I mean,  meatloaf! Good meatloaf. With good side dishes. Don't care about the beer because I don't drink. But we enjoy this restaurant.
