My family and I love this nature reserve, it is absolutely beautiful. There is a trail from the Kaiser RD entrance that begins pretty wide and leads to a Y where you can take a left and go on a longer nature walk with a thinner trail, or you can take a right and the trail ends soon at a neighnorhood. It is so amazing to be able to walk through these woods and lose site of our busy society and just pause in nature. I stop to hear the birds and take in the smell and feeling of nature, it is truly refreshing.

Grass Lake is a fantastic little park, especially considering it's in the middle of the west side. There's a forest & lake to explore, filled with birds and wildlife.

The trail system sometimes gets a little overgrown and it is not very long. Very limited parking, especialy from the 14th ave entrance and the trail system is very short. But some beautiful views around the lake especially in the evening around dusk.

This is a perfect place for an outdoor walk in Olympia. The downside is limited parking with no full sidewalk connection via Kaiser. Also, dog owners frequently have pets off leash. This doesn't offend me, but could lead to restrictions for all by the city of people don't follow the rules.

There are no dogs because it is a wildlife sanctuary. Dogs bring diseases, parasites, and the animals eat the dog's poop and get sick. If everyone with a pet cleaned up their poop, and took their animals to the vet more, then perhaps it wouldn't be an issue. So if you came here to complain about "no dogs", then take your complaints to a park that's meant for dogs and isn't a wildlife sanctuary. Pretty easy to understand what that means.
