Story

Designed and handmade in Portland, Oregon, and featured in Portland Monthly Magazine as one of Portland's best jewelry stores, Grayling is beloved by locals and celebrities (actors Courteney Cox and Amanda Seyfried are fans).

Grayling's retail store and adjoining workshop are located in the Alberta Arts District in Portland, Oregon. You won't find high pressure salespeople or five-figure price tags here--our staff encourages you to relax and explore at your own pace.

Grayling is committed to creating affordable nickel-free jewelry that is safe for sensitive skin. Designs are timeless with an edge, with emphasis on quality.

I've been a loyal customer and huge fan of Grayling Jewelry since the very beginning. They set the standard in costume jewelry. It's made right here in Portland and designed by a true artist, Katy Kippen, Their jewelry boutique on NE Alberta is stunning and inspiring, but never intimidating. They're more than happy to help you find just the right pieces for yourself or for one very lucky recipient. I have dozens of Grayling pieces and love to keep adding to my collection. Their jewelry is durable, high quality, and really holds up over time. Whether you're new to costume jewelry, looking to add to your own collection, or just in Portland for a visit, this is one boutique, in a darling neighborhood, that you won't want to miss. Love me some Grayling!

I own many pieces from Grayling and never fail to find one that gives that "something" needed to complete an outfit! All ranges are covered from casual to formal with this expertly handcrafted jewelry. I tend to only buy jewelry when I feel it is special in some way, and Grayling is my go-to for craftsmanship, hospitality, and overall pride and purpose in what they do. I never fail to get at least one compliment when I wear something from Grayling! (especially my newest Sophia ring, out of stunning brass and sparkling smoky crystals!)

Love this jewelry and all of the people making it! All of the jewelry is made "in house" by a group of lovely and hardworking women. The pieces range anywhere from simple to extravagant. The versatility makes it fun to mix and match pieces, layer different styles, add something simple to a loud outfit, or spice up a simple outfit with something bold. The gals in the shop are chalk full of suggestions and can alter any piece in the shop to fit your unique physique and/or preference. I'm pretty specific with the brands that I choose to shop from. Do they source locally... Are they just in it for the $... etc. Grayling is one of those well intentioned success stories that will make you not only want to wear their fabulous jewelry, but also to contribute to the world of small businesses and to have an (often lost) personal experience with your local jeweler.

The jewelry is gorgeous. They have a range of styles from delicate studs to larger statement pieces, so it's easy to find a gift here. The boutique assistants are very friendly and helpful; not pushy at all. Plus, everything is made in their workshop at the back of the boutique! Random Tips: - Katy, the owner and designer is often in the boutique. Say hi! - They also sell Voluspa candles (they smell amazing) and some greeting cards - Complimentary gift wrap, you just need to ask. - Closed on Monday. - Their jewelry is nickel-free, which means it's safe for peeps with sensitive skin

The jewelry they sell is amazing. The quality is superb and the price is just right. I can tell that this is one of the reasons why they have some loyal customers like me.
