Best little day hike in the Smokies. Start at The Bat Cave Trailhead. It is a beast and it will take you all day if you are in moderate/good shape. I always eat my lunch at the top and then head back down after sightseeing! Enjoy and make sure to look around. Summit Leconte around the corner and go to The Cliffs for another perfect view. Weather changes can be extremely shifty. Always be prepared!!! Enjoy!

There are several hikes you can take to reach Mt LeConte Shelter or Lodge (Alum Cave, Boulevard, Bullhead Rainbow Falls, and Trillium Gap trails). I've made this hikes more times than I can remember, and have reached the summit via Alum Cave, and the Boulevard Trails. The iconic areas to see via the Alum Cave are Arch Rock, Inspiration Point, and Alum Cave Bluffs. Via the Boulevard trail make sure to take the side trail just past the junction with the Appalachian Trail right 0.4 miles to the top of cliffs at the Jumpoff, with striking views of Charlie’s Bunion and upper Greenbrier Cove. Once on Mt. LeConte, you must see the spectacular views from Myrtle Point and Cliff Top. And make sure to stop by the Lodge and the shelter.
