This is the top of the Greene Valley garbage pile closed to garbage collection for many years.  They renamed it the Greene Valley Scenic Overlook and added a road to drive up to the top with plenty of free parking.  It is open May thru Oct on the weekends only.  You can see the downtown Chicago skyscrapers on a clear day.  I rode my bike up here and it's over 1 mile from the parking lot to the top with an elevation gain of 190 feet.  That's quite a ride.  It is very windy at the top.  Because of the wind, model RC pilots fly gliders off the side of the hill.  You need permits to fly here.
