Even though I'm from Winston-Salem I will have to say this is my least favorite Greyhound station. For me I usually take the red eye because that is most convenient for my schedule but I guess Winston is so small that they think there shouldn't be a Greyhound representative present during these hours. So if you're taking the midnight bus, the station is closed and you have to stand outside. The last time I waited on the bus for over 2 hours and there was no one to ask about the delay. You have to print your ticket at home because you don't have access to the building or you can come by during the day and talk to one of the unhappy clerks and they will print it off

As far as depots go this is one of the best I've seen. They have a large indoor sitting area that is open 24hrs a day. Also microwaves and free wifi. The buses run on schedule as posted in the brochures and if there are delays or changes you are notified through an electronic board or megaphone. The only reason it isn't marked five stars in my book is because the outside roof lets in the weather. This makes it hard when the station is crowded.

The Greyhound counter is inside the WSTA building. There are restrooms and vending machines as well as Wi-Fi.

Public Transportation in Winston Salem NC is great. Large facility with indoor accommodations. Great when weather is uncomfortable. Schedules and routes need additional fine tuning but overall service is adequate and useful. Proposal to move transportation area out of downtown would be inconvenient and a big mistake
