I was looking for a new place since my normal go-to for hair cuts closed/moved. I tried this Hair Cuttery. I'm just your typical white guy who wanted something short and neat. I often just go along with the stylist's recommendations save for a few particular requirements. Without asking, she had essentially glued my hair down. I didn't think anything of it since almost everyone does it (though they usually ASK first). It look short and simple enough and I'll just go wash the stuff out when I get home. I paid, left, got home, washed my hair, and that's when I saw how poorly my hair was actually cut. It's uneven, not blended or smoothed out at all so I have these sharp edges where the short length from the sides meet the longer hair on top. And I have random spots that are just longer than the rest of the surrounding area. I will be looking for a new new place.

Overall great experience. I did not have an appointment & only waited about 10-12 minutes. I was taken care of by Ebony and I highly recommend her, especially if you have natural hair. My hair is super thick; I wanted it washed, a few inches cut, blown out and styled/curled. Done. She was great and knew exactly what she was doing. For once in my life, I have nothing to complain about. Also, my natural curl pattern was not altered in any way.

I fully understand you get what you pay for, however I've never had an experience like this with any hair cuttery. She just completely missed chunks of my hair, parts are cut way too short and others weren't even touched with the scissors. Are you kidding me here?

Would give zero stars if I could. Went in with a picture of MY OWN hair cut from a few years ago so I knew how it was supposed to look, I had had my hair straightened earlier in the week and it was still halfway straight when I went in, well I sat down showed her the picture, showed her where my previous stylist had cut it to and then told her that I had very curly hair so it needed to be cut a little longer due to the shrinking of the curly hair, and I was told flat out "White girls don't have curly hair, you all have straight hair" to be honest I should have gotten up and left right then. But I stayed figuring that she was joking, she wasn't. She cut my hair not only SHORTER than I had originally asked but then when my hair started curling due to the wash she realized she messed up and WITHOUT asking she started straightening my hair so it would be close to the length I wanted (the picture was me with curly hair) I went in with hair just at my bra line, left with chin length hair, and bangs. Was charged $35 for a cut I HATED and I told her, and a straighting I never asked for, and didn't want. Then they had the audacity to ask if I wanted to join their club, quick no from me.

Mr James was amazing I cut my own hair leaving it uneven. Mr James fixed it leaving me feeling terrific. I already have my next appointment made.
