Hakka House Chinese Cuisine

Great place to have dinner with family and friends. Pleasant ambience and as we entered staffs greeted us with warm reception and friendliness. We ordered Stir-Fried String Beans, vegetable with tofu, Vegetarian Singapore Fried Rice noodle, Vegetable Fried rice. We also tried the Jasmine tea served in a vintage kettle. String beans were crispy and nicely flavored, try their hot sauce and chilly oil tastes even batter with that if you like it hot. Singapore rice noodles were so delicious and was loaded with my favorite veggies. Fried rice was good. Vegetable with tofu was soupy with loaded veggies and tofu. Will definitely visit again to try other varieties of food.

Nice food and wonderful experience. The boss is so kind and brought us free soup. The price is reasonable. Definitely will come back again!

Don't let the small interior fool you, this low-key restaurant serves high quality Chinese cuisine. We're talking real Chinese food, not the Americanized takeout; for example if you order a fish, they will bring you the whole fish. Definitely try some of their Hakka style dishes; Hakka cuisine is difficult to find and this chef serves up an authentic plate from his homeland. All dishes are served family style as it should be and the flavor is softer and more complex than what you'd find in a more typical Chinese restaurant. Highly recommend any of their hot pot dishes, especially the beef brisket hot pot.

Great service with good portion. The Hakka tofu is pretty good. Served on a iron plate, it has meat inside of the medium-firm tofu. The Hakka spicy fried chicken is pretty good, but it is quite similar to the Thai spicy fried chicken. In my opinion as a Taiwanese, I do not recall something similar in Hakka restaurant. However, it comes with a great portion and is crispy and delicious. The dim sum is Ok, but I would recommend other dishes better. Overall, it is a good restaurant with great service!

I would say the cuisine is more a mix of Cantonese, Taiwanese, and Hakka styles, but leans mostly towards Cantonese style. It was extremely busy when I went on a Saturday, note they do a lot of takeout so service wasn't great as they can't seem to deal with all the customers at once. If you can, make a reservation, I did, but they gave my table away even though we arrived on time, but got confused and gave it to a group that happened to show up a few minutes before us. We only waited maybe 10 minutes, so it wasn't bad, but don't wait for the servers to come to you if you have a reservation, go to the cashier/front which is actually near the back of the restaurant. The food itself is okay, you'll find pretty much most dishes are what you'd expect from a Cantonese restaurant with a few Taiwanese style dishes thrown in. Prices are high in line with the Bellevue area but I would probably skip this one.

This is one of the more authentic Chinese and Taiwanese food places I've had in the Seattle area. We were very happy with the siu mai, taro cake, gelatinous rice chicken, and minced pork congee. Prices are lower than other restaurants in the area, making it particularly good for dining out during high inflationary periods. The interior isn't fancy, but the staff make a good effort to keep it clean and are welcoming. I look forward to coming back to try other dishes, and there are certainly many of them.

The ONLY Chinese restaurant in all of WA that resembles Hawaii Chinese food - and the owner even threw a couple of ‘ōlelo my way…appreciated his ALOHA, MAHALO and IS IT ‘ONO? How fabulous was that? I’d return just because he recognized I’m Hawaiian BUT the food was AMAZING. Ordered the crispy chicken with chili sauce, shrimp shumai and - of course - the “Hawaii Style Cake Noodle” with crispy gau gee the dish that had me boarding a ferry to cross Puget Sound and drive another 30 minutes JUST TO TRY IT and it did not disappoint. So good I could have cried! So for any other HI locals that find themselves ‘ono for Chinese food, HAKKA HOUSE is da grindz!!!!!

We tried take out and it took a bit of waiting, probably done there are a few takeout orders ahead of us and patrons dining in. The food is yummy and different than the usual Chinese food. There are also small plates of dim sum. Price is not cheap but inline with other restaurants in the area.
