The dining experience was as bad as it gets. The waiter wasn’t listening to us when we are ordering. And they try to sell us the dishes we didn’t want for three times. Regarding the dish, the rib was bitter and the tofu didn’t have any salt in it. And a lot of dishes on the menus are not available… but they don’t point that out until we start to order. Just try to be cautious when you choose to dine here.
First time back to Shanghai House since they moved across the street. I ordered to go by phone and they told me 10 minutes, it took 20 for my food to be ready. I ordered Mongolian beef, two stars, with extra green onions. What I received was a soggy under-spiced dish that was almost stew like, losing all the character of the famous dish, with a ton of white onions and almost no green. That crispiness that makes Mongolian beef so delicious was completely lost on this experience, the onions were all over-cooked and the under-spiced soggy sauce was quite disappointing. The service was friendly and there was a generous portion of beef. Hope you folks can pick up your game! #dobetter
The bamboo shoots dish tasted rotten. Others were pretty typical Shanghai cuisine.
Long story short, the server of this restaurant regularly argues with customers over tips. Very unprofessional! Please learn about basic customer service and the fact that tips are something you earn based on the service. Don't take them for granted! Doing a quick search on the reviews here you'll find several similar complaints about servers arguing with customers in the face. That was exactly what happened to me. The recommended tips are calculated after tax and they expect you to give at least 18%. If you give anything less than 15%, chances are they would call out and argue with you. This was ridiculously unprofessional. I will never come again considering that the food here is over priced and very mediocre.
Cutting corners and lacking any pork or cabbage in their Pork and Cabbage Rice Cake dish. Also, bland for being almost $20 like everything else on the menu
After they moved across the street last year, it seems the owner has been changed. Their food is not tasty anymore. They don't have good jjajang meonblack bean noodles anymore. Especially, their Jjambbong seafood spicy noodles soup got worse.Food: 1/5
I wish I can give them 0 star. I had the worst sweet and your rib in my whole life. The sauce tasted so bad and the rib is way over cooked. Don't come here.
First time eating here. Ordered spare ribs which is severely over cooked. Then I ordered fresh veggie which was very salty.
One of the very good places to get Chinese food. Me and my team usually go to this place for lunch. The lunch special comes with your choice of soup, which I always get egg drop which is fantastic. I can never get enough of that. Everything on the menu is simple yet delicious. If you like spicy fried rice, please mention it to the server. The service can be a hit or miss. Casual, don't expect too much from the service. Cheers.
Not as expected. We ordered three dishes and none of them tasted as authentic as Shanghai taste.
