My husband and I love dim sum, and we usually go to China town for dim sum every weekend. When we travel to other cities, we also try to find dim sum restaurants for brunch. This dim sum place has good environment, but the taste is not good at all, and the prices are higher than the ones in China town in Seattle. Recommend Harbor City, Jade Garden, and Purple Dot Cafe
The food is excellent, authentic, and fairly speedy. I would suggest getting there early on weekends, as tables go fast. If you are looking for waitresses that will coddle and wait on you hand and foot, don't go here. Their main priority is getting food to tables and I love that. I'm here to eat, not to socialize with the people that work here, so dont expect overly friendly service. You also order your food from the app, so there is no long waiting for the server to come take your order. TLDR: Yes, it might not be the most friendly service, but that's not why people go there. It's for the good food. Just go try it. Vegetarian options: There are plenty of options for people who dont eat animal products. Some examples include: veggie dumplings, eggplant, and tofu Kid-friendliness: They have highchairs and kids are welcome Parking: Lots of parking spaces in the shared parking lot. Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is on one level and it is easy to wheel a wheelchair up to the round tables.
In terms of food quality: I rate all the dishes I tried as medium. Food tastes just OK. Fried tofu tasted like it is fried in old oil. I'm a bit disappointed to see dried red chili flakes on "Salt & Pepper Calamari" and "Salt & Pepper Tofu" Price adjustments are noticeable. Therefore I'm giving two stars for those dishes today.
Dim sum tastes fine. Nowhere near my definition of authentic. If Guangzhou dim sum is deemed as authenticity, then Top Gun would be heresy. Overall, the taste is good and feels like a proper dim sum place!
Great food and lots of options. We ordered dim sum which came out quickly! It was very busy so waiters were busy but still friendly. I loved the food lots of flavor. I’ll be back!
Please, don't eat here. It is very obvious how the restaurant is cutting costs with their food. Quite possibly the worst Chinese food I've ever had, and the sad thing is, it used to be good. Over the years my family has both eaten here and ordered takeout of both dim sum and entrees. The mandatory star I have to give I'll credit to edible dim sum but you could get better dim sum anywhere else, so there's still not point. I literally would not feed the food we got to my dog tonight. And he begged hard. This place used to be pretty good pre COVID. But it has backslid since then. We ordered 7 dishes for my dad's birthday dinner; egg foo yung, pan fried seafood noodles, fried rice, green string beans, beef noodles, general tso's chicken, and walnut shrimp. The food had zero taste. I mean zero. Usually food will taste like something but I can't put it to you more literally than it was just bland and completely tasteless. But worse than that is how obvious it is where the restaurant has switched up ingredients and quality to stay cheap. Egg foo yung should have been foo yung because I'm still genuinely not sure if it had eggs in it or not. It was a mushy blob that seemed like it had lots and lots of flour and onion in it. Maybe potatoes. Who knows? The walnut shrimp and chicken were somehow both soggy and tough. And if you couldn't tell, that greenish brown lump with the shimp used to be fresh cabbage. Most disappointing was the pan fried seafood noodles. There used to be actual fish and nice cuts of squid in the dish, and scallops. Now there are old frozen fish balls and squid, no scallops. The sauce like everything else has absolutely no taste to it. It's as if there is no salt or seasoning in any dish they make. Oh, and the food was already lukewarm when we picked it up and cool by the time we got home 15 minutes away. The food is just just a disappointment on every level. And based off the other reviews, the staff and facilities are no longer pleasant either. What reason is there to patronize this place?
THEY RE-USE FOOD WASTE ALERT!!! We received a large portion of take out with about 45 minutes of delay. While we were digging into the shrimp dumplings, we found a single dumpling thats literally bitten and wrapped with like a parchment paper. We immediately called and notified the restaurant and the owner disgustingly insists that sometimes dumpling skins tear off while packaging nothing wrong with it, though we clearly see a human teeth lining in the dumpling. We really wish google offers 0 star rating option for this kind of restaurant.
Make sure you check your bank statement if paying by credit card. I ate here with a group of 12. A 15% tip was automatically applied to my bill, which I was ok with and I signed for that amount. When I checked my bank statement, an additional 15% was added to my charge of an already substantial amount. This happened on Chinese New Year. They were extremely busy, so consider the following within that context: Our table was not clean and we had to ask to have it wiped after the 5 of us that had already arrived we were seated. Waitstaff did not wait for us to get up just quickly wiped the areas where no one was seated then left. When tea arrived we noticed that it smelled like bleach. After trying to determine the source of the smell we determined that it was coming from the teacups. We alerted our server who just grabbed one cup and brought it back still wet from rinsing, then scurried away. It took at least a half hour for us to receive the 1st course of our meal. Each subsequent course took a similar amount of time to arrive. None of our food rose to the level of quality I would expect for the prices. I will not choose to eat here again and would not recommend this place to anyone that does not carefully monitor their bank account or is looking for a pleasurable experience out of their visit.
While I miss the carts, all of your food comes at once when you order from the online menu/QR code at the table which had your table number. Everyone is very friendly. Parking: Parking is available but a little tight. If you're meeting a couple of people, I wpould park at the mall and ride over together. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair access right by the door.
I was a bit hesitant to try this spot out based on mixed reviews I'd read, but I'm very glad I did! I was very impressed by the quick, friendly, attentive service, the reasonable prices, and the large menu. I went at 7pm on a weekday and was seated and served immediately. Will definitely be back!
