Just your standard classic "neighborhood bar"! It's not a small place....just set in a neighborhood setting...so....BE QUIET AND RESPECTFUL when coming and going! They used to have a stage with great Irish entertainment but it wasn't there when I visited! They looked to have totally re-vamped their kitchen though! I hear the food is very good!

Love the Rec and have been going for the last decade.  It's a chill place with good food and decent prices.   Unfortunately, when they have their DJ it is stupid loud in there.  Music  is fine and all, but if I wanted to be completely deafened, I'd go to a club.  The speaker system isn't good enough to handle the volume either, so it's all treble all the time and literally impossible to speak to anyone, including wait staff, even if you are screaming.  Last time I was there to celebrate a birthday, we finally went into the basement bocce courts out of desperation and stayed there the rest of the night.   So maybe avoid when the DJ is scheduled

I love Half Time! I would definitely go more if they had big bands and I would bring all my friends like we used to. 

It's spacious and there are plenty of places to sit with different vibes.
As far as their food is concerned, it is great. However, their menu is missing a few basics, like a regular hot dog and tator tots. 

There is a parking lot across the street too.

Good neighborhood bar food. Guiness, of course. Courteous and helpful staff and Irish Brigade sounding great.
Do give your flatware a good once over though. Should be shiny clean when brought to the table but ...

A Twin Cities must visit.  Food is amazing, atmosphere is super casual and fun, and service is good.  Love this place!
