The Hampton Inn Somerset was a good overnight stay for a commute along the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Service was good. Breakfast was good. Looking South out of the room was not so good looking out on a truck parking lot. Otherwise, the hotel was great for an overnight stay.

Watch your billing! Possible embezzlement going on. Paid with Hilton Honors gift card yet my bank account was overcharged by nearly $400.00. Front desk staff assured me that it would be taken care of and charges would drop off but only half of them did. Nearly $200.00 was permanently debited from my account and now I'm trying to get the money refunded. The front desk staff promised me 3 times that she would have the manager call and I never received a phone call. I have had to go directly to corporate for help and have my bank dispute the charge. Very shady.

The only reasons this hotel gets 3 instead of 1 or 2 is that Hampton is the best and most reliable biz travel hotel and the desk staff was very pleasant. BUT - at 7 am, the hot water was just barely warm. I can forgive anything but that

Worst night I've ever spent in a hotel. The room was well appointed and clean. I have no complaints about appearance or housekeeping. The trouble started when we tried to go to sleep. First, the walls were so thin we could not only hear cars and conversations in the parking lot 4 floors below and the woman across the hall coughing behind her closed door, we could hear what the man in the neighboring bathroom was doing. Second, the mattresses were of the cheap, creaky spring variety that shake the bed mates awake if someone rolls over or scratches their nose. Third, and most disrupting of all, when the heater came on it was like being on an airplane with a bullfrog. The heater was so loud and droning it woke us all up every time it came on and putting a pillow over our ears was no help (our solution to the other noise problem). In all, I maybe got 2 hours of sleep and was relieved when it was time to get back in the car to continue our journey. I will never stay in this hotel again. (Let it be noted that I have never had these problems in any other Hilton Hotel.)
