Harris Regional Hospital, established in 1925, is an 86-bed acute and specialty care facility serving Western North Carolina with more than 100 physicians practicing in locations throughout a multi-county region, including Harris Regional Hospital Medical Park of Franklin, an outpatient facility in Macon County.

Long story short, my wife brought our autistic son in to the ER and the medical staff, all of them were absolutely terrible. No bedside manors or professionalism considering they were dealing with a mentally disabled 11 yr old. I would've maybe expected such treatment for a murderer but even then they should probably be polite and professional because that's their job. They only kind one there was the security guard. We've always heard this place was bad but now we've seen it for ourselves.

My wife and I were transported by ambulance to Harris on January 2, 2018 as a result of an auto accident .  We were seen in the ER, which was a zoo and understaffed due to holiday.  We were X Rayed and my wife was C Scanned after my insistence due to her having recently undergone extensive back surgery with implementation of extensive hardware.  We were told there were NO injuries and discharged.  My wife continued to suffered extensive pain, had her re=examined by her surgeon, X Ray showed, very obviously, that one of the rods in her back was broken in the accident.
Not sure  the problem other than there was limited staff, due to holiday, they did not take their responsibility seriously, and appeared to be unconcerned.    We are very lucky that we returned to her original surgeon for a second examination.
Now I have received a demand for payment statement, due to the admin person failing to record correct insurance information, or a known scheme to bill the insurance and patient for double payment.
IF YOU CAN AVOID THIS HOSPITAL, I STRONGLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO DO SO !!!!

Would give a 0 but that’s not possible. This is the second time I’ve been to the emergency room with someone and it takes them 2+ hours to get them back. We wouldn’t come to the energy room if it wasn’t AN EMERGENCY

90% of the ER staff treated me and my son as if we were criminals. The security gaurd Kenny was the only one who had a heart. I will be driving to Asheville or anywhere else in case of another emergency.

We just had our daughter at the Birthing Center at Harris Regional and it was a magical experience that we will NEVER forget! All of the nursing staff was ABSOLUTELY amazing! We live in Atlanta but due to the special circumstances of our pregnancy the birth had to happen at Harris. I'll admit, leading up to the delivery there were times that I had my concerns. However, when our big day came and for the two days following, I don't think we could have received more compassionate, attentive, supportive, or higher quality care anywhere. As I read some of the negative reviews I am honestly shocked because our experience was hard to have been improved, and we have very high standards. Yes, the facility wasn't as nice as most of our "big city" hospitals and the meals could always be (much) improved, but the nursing staff and the care we received was second to none! Thank you!
