Great place but walked in one day and saw all the cleaner ngladoes on their hands and knees scrubbing the lobby floor and string bleach smell I didn't like that they made their ployees work this way.

We had a king suite. The room was very nice and spacious with a separate living room, bedroom and a kitchen. Lots of room to relax.
We were surprised when we returned to our room on a Sunday evening to find that our room hadn't been cleaned. When we inquired about the lack of maid service for the day we were told that they do not clean rooms on Sundays. In all our traveling years we have never experienced that, and hopefully will never experience it again. Maybe the answer is not to stay at a Hawthorne Suites on a weekend.

Housekeepers here are allowed to steal as long as they lie about it. I left my phone charger accidentally when I checked out. I called several times with no results Left a message with the manager which wasn't returned. Eventually went back. Finally they asked the housekeeper who cleaned the room and they found it. They said it was on one of the carts, but the front desk girl I talked to said she had looked on the carts and it wasn't there and it wasn't in their lost and found . The manager when I went back said that if the housekeeper said she hadn't seen it they quote " wouldn't have it." I said where else would it be. She said again, "we wouldnt have it." Fortunately the housekeeper was honest. So other than allowing their housekeepers to steal as long as they lie about it and stonewalling guests if they forget something, it was an adequate room.
