You will not get better physical/occupational therapies anywhere else. We found the nursing staff to be very attentive. Caseworker services was seriously lacking. Please note: Healthsouth is considered a hospital and therefore any required inpatient therapies beyond the "14 days that Medicare pays", may be provided by a Skilled Nursing Facility where you will be provided medically necessary PT/OT. The caseworker kept steering us to an assisted living facility which is patient pay all expenses and very little PT/OT. We had to pursue the SNF on our own when the casework would not contact Medicare for an extended 4 or 5 day stay beyond on the 14 days. Not very patient friendly. You need to be your own advocate.

I spent two weeks in that hospital and everyone there treated me excellent from the case worker,the nurses, the rehab staff they were all excellent

Terrible Physician. Never had any contact for medication changes on my brain injured Spouse. Physician never returned any phone calls or prompts for 18 days, then at Family Day, had no answer for his terrible service. Could have killed my spouse and put his life at risk for brain bleeding. Would never recommend to anyone. Physical therapist was incredible, re-taught spouse to walk, case manager was great and on top of things. But what does it matter when physicians and nursing staff cares not about client safety. Spouse had two reported falls. Do not make the same mistake I did.

Best decision I could have made. If you want to work hard and get on your way to independence, this is the place to go. Not for wimps Fantastic rehab!

This is the best inpatient rehabilitation hospital I have ever known, with clinical staff that cares.
