The Heard Museum is filled with some stunning works of art from Native American artists. While you're enjoying the art, you get a bit of Native American culture and history as the icing on the cake. The artwork was in various forms - pottery, jewelry, paintings, sculptures, glass, drawings, etc. There were contemporary pieces along with some old artifacts and everything in between. There are some wonderful pieces for sale in the gift shop should you want an authentic memento from your trip to AZ.

A powerful and emotive display of current, modern, and historic Native American art. The art was far more complex and powerful than I was expecting. As a part of the culture that tried in our past to eradicate the indigenous people I am grateful for their tenacity and impact on the world that improves all our lives.

Lovely museum. I went in October for the Friday Kahlo exhibit and wound up learning so much more. In fact, I still think about it. It was an eye-opening experience, especially the section about the Indian schools. A very sad time in our history that I knew nothing about. The exhibits are relevant and emotional.

My second time here. A very informative Native American museum. I visited on this occasion because I needed a peaceful place to wait for my rental check-in. I visited the cafe and gift shop, made some purchases and drank my tea in the outdoor courtyard next to the water feature. There is also a nice little resturaunt there. I haven't had the pleasure of dinning there but folks should know about that as well.

This is one of must-visit private museums in Phoenix AZ, which I have heard about from a local with whom I had breakfast with at my hotel. I showed up just in time for the guided tour by their very well read docents who tried to give us as much information as they could. The museum has a lot to show and offer to anyone who is interested about life and culture of Indians in South-West USA. I have not known much about except from the movies, which I know are mostly fiction. In this museum, you will learn about the greatness and beauty of their culture and history.
